Whose the Funniest Comedian on The Planet?

'Brain Droppings' was awesome, for sure. His most remembered routine will always be 'The 7 Words You Can't Say On Television', though.

I always laughed when I listened to Mitch Hedberg, too, but most people didn't seem to like him much. :confused:

Here's my reasons for my choices...

Johnny Carson - IMO the greatest comedy mind of all time. Unlike every other person on this thread, Johnny was funny every night for 30 years.

Plus, my favorite comedy is ad lib, and Johnny was the best at this.

And finally, something else Johnny was better at than any one else on this thread: Johnny was also a great "straight man" and set others up as well as any one.

Groucho Marx - I actually became a fan watching reruns of his old game show. He's the original "smart ass" and has influenced every comedian since.

Sam Kinninson - He was more a social experimenter than comedian. His goal was to find what people would laugh at and would take the worst subjects and try to make jokes out of them. The video I posted about world hunger is a good example. How do you make a joke out of world hunger?

Richard Pryor - Just plain funny. I can't believe no one else around my age listed him.

Easy choice 4 me....and found it interesting that on a recent documentary almost every major comic white or black......came up with the same the same name.....

The two most beautiful words in the world of comedy: Richard Pryor.

Richard was the real deal.....what u saw and heard was what you got.

He set the trend. And the standard.

And the most brutally honest comic and actor ever....because Richie knew he was a fuxk up most of the time.....and wasn't afraid to put it all out on his sleeve.

Bill Cosby...nothing against him. But Rich spoke from the heart....not a bowel of jello pudding...and that's why he was loved so much.

Rich didn't hide his demons....and he opened the doors for a whole lot of comics because he had the balls to say "no" ....I aint gonna dance for you.

Loved this man. Shared the same birthday. Memorized everyline from every album.....and everyone from Robin Williams to Mike Epps to Katt Williams to Eddie Murphy.......to Steve Martin.....all put Rich at the top of the pack.

His stories....Mudbone, hunting with his dad, and the monkees.....damn...classic ****. Loved this dude......there was NO LIES in Rich. And people knew it. Ad Johnny Carson to the list of peeps who thought Rich was the best ever.
