I'm no dance expert...but to me it looked like Mike and his partner were dancing to two different songs.

Man, Mike looks like a dancin bear...

Wonder if he's really that hard up for money or he just likes Italy.

Marvin Hagler moved there...nobody's heard from him in years.

I'd go dance in Italy just for the Linguini and clams.

I love Hagler...One of my favorite athletes ever...He became a big Italian action movie star after moving to Italy.

I would have liked to see Simon Cowell judge that, would have been hoot...I don't think he would ever judge again...hard to hear with no ears.

Yea Marvin was one of mine too...I still to this day find something funky with that fight with Sugar Ray...I was way into the boxing back then...what a great era.

The marvelous one was outwitted and psyched out by Sugar Ray.

Much like Duran tricked Ray into fighting his type of fight in their first meeting.

Marvin fought the first 6 or 7 rounds of the fight orthodox instead of his normal southpaw stance and tried to outbox Ray - but he just gave the rounds away.

As soon as he reverted to southpaw he started hammering Ray but he allowed Ray to steal rounds at the end of many rounds.

By the end of the fight Sugar was holding on for dear life and if it had gone one more round, I'm sure Sugar would have been knocked out.

I'll never forget the Marvelous one saying...

"They took my title" after the fight sounding like Baby Huey.

I was living in Denver at the time and my ex and I were just getting ready to move to Las Vegas. I was prepared to bet the ranch on Hagler and would have had we been in LV...Luckily our move was delayed and it ended up being the best bet I never made...But it was also the most certain I've ever been.

That fight bothers me too...And it bothered Hagler. He left the ring saying "they stole my title" and unlike every other boxer, Hagler stayed retired.

But here's a Hagler fight we can all enjoy...The judges had to be relieved it ended in a KO, I don't know how you'd score this fight any other way:

This fight was one of those rockem-sockem type of fights where someone was going to get knocked out.

It was one for the ages.

  One of my best friends in Las Vegas was a total degenerate and had the worst luck of anyone I know.
  
  He had a large bet on the Hollyfield/Tyson fight...He bet "over 10 rounds". It didn't matter who won, it just had to go 11 rounds or more for him to win. When Tyson bit Hollyfield the ref stopped the fight...in the 9th round. LOL

Thanks Kurt, I haven't seen that fight in years. Forgot how good it was.

Hearns had such a long reach (78") for that division and knew how to use it....anybody that went in with him, knew to pack a lunch.

For some reason I always had this fight pictured in my head over the years, as the overhead camera shot that showed his eyes spinning like a slot machine. Now I remember that was when Tyson knocked out Micheal Spinks in 90 seconds or whatever it was.

One of my old favorites, Roberto Duran.

He just loved to fight...he was also one of the most unapologetic party animals.

I had to love 'im. A lot of people don't realize he really was a very experienced street fighter..and one of our favorite parts of watching Duran was to see how many unseen fouls he pulled.

I've seen him get his opponent between him and the ref, step on his foot and take a shot, various elbows, just things that I sometimes think he couldn't help himself.

But that is not to take away from his immense boxing talent, especially at lightweight.

I never saw a guy quite like him until Tony Ayala, who threw everything down the crapper.

Yea Yea yea...There's an old saying: you can build 100 bridges, but if you @#$% one &^%$...nobody is going to call you a bridge builder.

He was far more than that, and believe me, I don't think anybody was more surprised than me that night.

I watched him since he was a lightweight...his legacy stands with me.

Yeah, but as in his own words, "He trained confuciously" for that dance and if he didn't win he was going to "fade into bolivia." (If you're lost, he was trying to say he was training profusely and if he lost he was going to fade into oblivion.) I personally thought he actually knew the great, great, great, great grandson of Confucious, Confucious Lee.
