Does anyone have any ideas on how a new member can reach minimum number of messages threshold without having to post redundant or nonsensical messages (possibly such as this one heremay be)?

Gripe: the system isn't too clear on this issue either. At footer I read all kinds od stuff as to waht I may post which doeesn't actually pan out.

I don't know nuthin about nuthin.

I know it's frustrating at first, but it's a skill worth learning. A lot of web masters will use strong forums (with a PR5 or better, or even .edu sites), to get back links to their site. You are correct, you don't want to leave a redundant message, just to get a post. If you were trying to get a back link to your website, they would throw you out of the forum. Warrior Forum won't throw you out for that, but others hi page rank forums would, especially .edu and .gov. web sites.

Best to use the search box in the red bar on the top of the page and search something that interests you, writing, blogging, website building, or whatever blows up your dress. Then scan what the subject is about, then go to the last page, read the last 5 or 6 posts and post something. You need fifty posts just to be able to pm someone. (pm = private message.)

Just make it easy on yourself, do 5-10 posts per day, and you will be there in a week or two. You might find that you actually like it and like I said it's a good skill to have. Think of it as a text message.

Also there is a link on the top called Help Desk. They have videos that you can watch to help you get your feet wet.

This is actually the longest post I've made, other than a product review! But I do this for you, my brother. :-) . I know what it's like when you first get started, but most people in here are pretty nice.

Check your private message, I'm going to PM you.

    Good Luck.

      Hello Scott.
Thanks for your kind words and tips. 5-10 post a day though; I couldn't even manage that on my blog! Just joking.

I will follow your advice and check the search and the video you recommend.

      Hi atthebull,
No! There're all kinds of interesting things here. One that I've already become addicted to and which has cost me a small fortune are the WSOs (Warrior Special Offers). In that area you can fin d products with huge discounts on the outside price.

There is also plenty of technical as well as IM help. Just browse some of the categories and you will soon see.

You will undoubtedly find many instances of people offering their product. But as I say this is a place where in general you will find products for your area of activity.

Stick around! And thanks for the opportunity to send another message.

When I was new to the Warrior Forum, I didn't even know what a backlink was.
I got my post count up by contributing to the Forum. All very natural. I joined because I liked the forum and the people that contribute to it.

Okay, if you go about this logically, it's not hard.

      1. Why are you here? Hopefully, because you want to learn about Internet
marketing. Therefore, there must be things that you don't know.

      2. Look for threads of interest. For example, say you're interested in learning
about article marketing. Look for threads on article marketing.

      3. Read the threads. Unless you completely grasp every concept in them (not
likely for somebody new to marketing) you're going to have questions about
      certain things being discussed.

      4. Ask your questions.

      5. For some threads, you may have some experience (even if it's bad) on
the subject. Talk about your experience and how it didn't work for you,
      Explain what you did.

There is absolutely ZERO reason to not be able to contribute to this forum
      in a proper manner.

Just to let anyone reading this know, posts on the Off Topic section of Warrior Forum are not added to your post count.

As for posting messages and having something to talk about, once you're warmed up you'll probably need to edit yourself and resist posting too much

I was asking myself why the counter wasn't increasing and figured that it didn't run on weekends

One of the problems I've been having is that when I've tried to post messages in different places I get a note that I don't have permission. Thatis why I titled this thread Catch 22!

I guess I will just have to read the help manual for bedtime reading tonite and put the several msgs I added on this thread down to experience.

Thanks for everyone's help though. I'm off to find somewhere to post.

Catch 22 as in: "inorder to post messages you must first have posted 20 messages." And the one place I found to post messages doesn't count toward the requirement. Hope Im missing something

    Thanks for your kind words and tips. 5-10 post a day though;
My pleasure, glad it helped. The worst part is that you can't PM till you got 50 posts. But PM me when you do.

There are areas where you have to "earn your stripes" before you can post in them as you've noticed, as well as the War Room where you actually have to be a member and pay a fee before being able to access it.

The best place to get started is in the main discussion board here: Main Internet Marketing Discussion Forum

You should find something up there where you can either ask questions or throw in your two cents worth.

A word of advice though about asking questions. Use the search function in the top right hand corner to check if that question hasn't been asked many times before. The old hands around here get bored with having the same questions asked over and over again.

If there's already a thread on the subject you want to learn more about, read through the thread and see if there are any points you need clarified, or expanded upon.

Pretty soon you'll have enough posts to gain access to other areas, as well as other benefits, and you're off and running from there.

Then when you've gained a bit more knowledge, you can always come back down here to the Off Topic board where we just chill out, shoot the breeze, laugh, love and basically just waste some time in pleasant surroundings.

There's no race to see who can rack up the most posts, so don't worry about it too much. You'll get there in due course.

Having said that, welcome aboard, and we look forward to seeing more of you in the future.

@whateverpedia Thanks for the great guidance, esp directions to a specific Forum area.

Meanwhile I glean the following from the FAQ:

Q: Why do I need 20 posts to make a post?
A: The 20 post requirement just applies to the Reviews section of the forum. You can reply to thread in all other forum sections.

This is a huge advance on what I thought the case to be.

In regard, I think it would be very useful (it would be to me certainly) to have a simple statement of the posting threshold rules that could be part of the FAQ. Obv the above is definitely a beginning and the prefect format.

      e.g.
Q: When can I start posting?

      Q:When can I start a thread?

Meanwhile, I just noticed that I'm worrying whether this discussion is allowed in this section! See; it can be really inhibiting.

      >>whateverpedia; Having said that, welcome aboard, and we look forward to seeing more of you in the future.

Be careful what you look forward to )

I took one entire day, and used the search feature to give great, helpful advice on things I know about. I got 60 posts, over 40 "thanks", and helped a lot of people as well.

Everybody has some knowledge that is desired by someone else.

If you are an effective writer, type newbie, articles in the search box, browse the posts and begin "helping" not "posting."

    Worked for me.
