This guy really seems to have his facts together. After searching Youtube, then just doing some general Google searches, I see he's not the only one. There are thousands all over the world prepping for evacuation. What are we missing here? Could ALL of these people be WRONG?

I didn't make a comment about whether or not the video was correct. I merely gave an direct answer to a direct question about the possibility that they could all be wrong. And they can all be wrong.

But since your post seems to insinuate that they can't possibly all be wrong, please do tell us why they can't be wrong?

BTW, can you also explain how these "experts" at the 3:16 mark say this "dwarf star" passes from the "southern hemisphere of our solar system to the norther hemisphere"? Since when did solar systems have "hemispheres" or north and south? BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Seriously?

I couldn't listen after that, but please do tell about "north and south" and "hemispheres" in a solar system?

Don't tell me to calm down, you have no clue as to my state of mind. As a matter of fact, I found your post and the video above to be hilarious, not stressful. I take it poker isn't your strong suit.

Sheeeeesh... I'll just apologize and leave it at that. As for the question, the correct answer is, I don't know. The video isn't mine -- it was posted by someone else.

Ive been to seminars where professors, both specializing in the same field, get into disagreements over certain "facts". I wouldn't be able to allow myself to believe that they were both morons as some here would tend to "insinuate".

We are just people, some with degrees, some with mild curiosity, some just looking to get a rise out of everyone else -- but all bringing different perspectives to the table, gaining new perspectives, and maybe even learning something at the same time.

Some of you arrogant professor-genius-hotheads need your own forum to share your own special genius.

And by the way, "Kurt", I'd sweep the street with you in poker.

You don't know yourself very well, do ya? And most people that "apologize" don't then go on to insult someone personally. There's a difference between criticizing a comment and insulting a person, you may want to educate yourself on the difference.

Ive been to seminars where professors, both specializing in the same field, get into disagreements over certain "facts". I wouldn't be able to allow myself to believe that they were both morons as some here would tend to "insinuate".
Yet you avoid my questions. Nice red herrings, professor, plus a classic example of a straw man fallacy. I didn't say EXPERTS "insinuate" anything. I said YOU "seem to". See the difference? Don't make up things, pretending that they are relevant.

We are just people, some with degrees, some with mild curiosity, some just looking to get a rise out of everyone else -- but all bringing different perspectives to the table, gaining new perspectives, and maybe even learning something at the same time.

Now I'm arrogant? Isn't the web a great thing where you can call people names and not have to worry about it? And you don't even have the spine to use a real name. Classic...So much for your "apology".

And judging by your inability to read people, I'm not too concerned about your claims to being able to play poker better than me.

Not to mention your total lack of logical thought. It's a common logical fallacy to call people names and use red herrings when one doesn't have anything intelligent to add, so instead they attack (ad hominem fallacy).

This is all because of your illogical assumption about my first post concerning them all not being able to be wrong. Judging by your posts, logic isn't your strong suit.

GOD, is that guy an IDIOT, or WHAT? He takes SO long to GOAD, speaks in monotone, etc.... If a white dwarf came close enough to PHSYICALLY hurt one side of the plant more than another, FORGET IT! Life, if it still existed, wouldn't be the same by that time.

HERE is what wikipedia says about them:

A white dwarf, also called a degenerate dwarf, is a small star composed mostly of electron-degenerate matter. They are very dense; a white dwarf's mass is comparable to that of the Sun and its volume is comparable to that of the Earth. Its faint luminosity comes from the emission of stored thermal energy.[1] In January 2009, the Research Consortium on Nearby Stars project counted eight white dwarfs among the hundred star systems nearest the Sun.[2] The unusual faintness of white dwarfs was first recognized in 1910 by Henry Norris Russell, Edward Charles Pickering, and Williamina Fleming;[3], p. 1 the name white dwarf was coined by Willem Luyten in 1922.[4]
SO, if he were even CLOSE to being right about the white dwarf. Close in this case could be even MILLIONS of miles off!!!!!! FORGET IT, everything else he says is WRONG!!!!!

I mean the sun is only about 93 million miles away! Only 10 light MINUTES!

I never meant to claim otherwise. A white dwarf could make this planet less viable than MARS! They are supposed to have HIGH MASS and HIGH GRAVITY. Maybe that idiot heard they were bad and a nice touch. A comet, meteor, asteroid, MAYBE! A white dwarf, red giant, or black hole, NO WAY!

My point is that it would be SO catastrophic, that it would affect the WHOLE planet. Maybe some life would exist, MAYBE, but it wouldn't be anything we could use, and we would be dead also. MAYBE you could hide in a VERY good submarine inside of a bomb shelter inside of several other bomb shelters under the ground, and enjoy the ride a bit. Following some kook into a cave just won't do it.

From my understanding, for me to be wrong here, they would have to change their understanding of gravity and or white dwarfs.

Jaxxxon: "...arrogant professor-genius-hotheads need your own forum to share your own special genius..."

    Kurt: "Now I'm arrogant?"

The dialogue here is priceless! But back to the original topic... I watched the whole video, checked out others, then saw the NASA site, Fema Camps, Sumerian history, Annunaki, Jessie Ventura videos on underground bunkers, floods, tornadoes, tsunami's, overactive volcanoes... WOW.

Folks...Elenin is a comet plain and simple. If it were a star with a heavier mass we would be able to see this mass by the way it interacts with the sun. It is behaving exactly as it should. So yes, it's a comet.

Here's some water for this fire... (or kerosene, lol!)

Had to come back and check on this thread... and add a few WEIRD things I stumbled across.

I can honestly say that with sooooooooo much information on the web on this Elenin thing, I can see how a cult following can develop. Who do you believe if you don't have a high level of education in this area?

All you can then do is try to educate yourself, pronto, but then, once again, which studies are true?

    Found this at another site:

If all the Ozies did leave, we could turn Australia into a prison again. Send all the riff-riff over there and place cameras everywhere. Reality TV Baby! Like that movie with Steve Austin and Vinnie Jones, "the Condemned".

You'll never get used to the climate here. Imagine, actual sunshine even in winter. No, you and your fellow "riff-riff" are better off where you are. :p

Why do garden gnomes smell so bad?
So that blind people can hate them as well.

The Aussies can't evacuate, they'd never find a place that speaks Australian.

There's only about 23,000,000 of them. Stick them in Canada somewhere and give them their own province. Plenty of space. They could have their own language and everything like the French.

    Copied from the http://www.astronomyforum.net:

Anyone worried about Elenin - and whether it has the mass to affect Earth.....

It passed about half a lunar distance from asteroid 74732 just last week.
74732 is less than 3km in diameter - If Elenin WERE a brown dwarf star, or if it were orbiting a brown dwarf - 74732 would at least have been gravitationally captured, possibly even sucked it right in to a collision.
It didn't - they passed each other without incident and continued on their merry ways.

If it can't significantly affect a 3km asteroid from half a LD, it ain't gonna even remotely affect Earth from it's nearest approach of more than 80 LD
