Lol..."Auto Zone" announced their new certification seal today.
They actually call the parts C.R.A.P. Certified Refurbished Auto Parts...

          Jim I hate to tell you this, but most of the Auto Zone counter people around here are pretty sharp. Most of the guys and girls are some smart gear heads.

            They must have done one heck of a makeover then.

            I have to admit I've only been buying oil and filters...etc, you know basic stuff. For the last few years.

            The last time I was actually working on something extensive, which admittedly was a few years now, it was like they hired for Miss teen USA.
            Guess they figured it would attract the fellas..which it did till I really needed something ordered.

            I think they did change hiring policies, because they hired this friend of mine and I sometimes think he dreams in mechanical specs..
            He's my age.

            I need anything now, I order thru my friends auto shop, saves me money and time (in hair pulling) and I in turn send him business. Even got him a couple of fleet contracts. But he is good.


            I seriously do think this is pretty smart and I doubt they "missed" it.
            Standing out is smart advertising.
            Bet the workers are getting a lot of jokes their way tho...

              I know many of them around here where garage mechanics taking it easy as they got older. Also some where HVCC auto mechanic grads or students. Short track racing is pretty big around here also.
              I don't know how they are in other areas, it may just be luck we got some good ones here.
