I found this somewhere in the web and it made me laugh a bit. Thought I would share the laugh if any1 is interested...

Did you know...

Michael Jordan having "retired," with $40 million in endorsements, makes $178,100 a day, working or not.

If he sleeps 7 hours a night, he makes $52,000 every night while visions of sugarplums dance in his head.

If he goes to see a movie, it'll cost him $7.00, but he'll make $18,550 while he's there.

If he decides to have a 5-minute egg, he'll make $618 while boiling it.

He makes $7,415/hour more than minimum wage.

If he wanted to save up for a new Acura NSX ($90,000) it would take him a whole 12 hours.

If someone were to hand him his salary and endorsement money, they would have to do it at the rate of $200 every second.

He'll probably pay around $200 for a nice round of golf, but will be reimbursed $33,390 for that round.

He'll make about $19.60 while watching the 100-meter dash in the Olympics, and about $15,600 during the Boston Marathon.

This year, he'll make more than twice as much as all U.S. past presidents for all of their terms combined.

Amazing isn't it?

However...

If Jordan saves 100% of his income for the next 500 years, he'll still have less than Bill Gates has at this very moment.

Game over. Nerd wins.

Cute... But if we're dreaming I'd rather be MJ. He may have less money, but he's a lot cooler than BG.

No Kidding. You'll never see people go crazy over shoes just because it says "Bill Gates" on it

LOL If I had that kind of money I would have a perpetual amount of money dumped into close friends, family and some select high school teachers (who helped me through a very troubling part of my life) bank accounts.

I would also swim in my pool naked, so that every time TMZ photog showed up he'd have a real "money shot!" Hell, I'd just buy TMZ so I could promote products to that demo until the end of time. lol

I disagree with the "working or not" statement. He's Michael Jordan. He may have retired from basketball, but he still has to be "Michael Jordan." Money. Power. Who doesn't dream of having that?

    Meanwhile, back at the BATCAVE....

Yes, and he did it the old-fashioned way! Years and years of work and practice, not pixie dust or wishful thinking, and certainly not by grousing about how "overpaid" someone else is!

Good ol' residual income! I aspire to hit that type of residual income some day. Gotta love making money while you sleep. I bet it makes traveling a whole heck of a lot easier.

If you put about 100k per year in trust funds for 20 years, you could probably live like Michael Jordan, or similar... lets say you had 5 million in trust funds at 20% interest... you would make a million dollars per year just off of interest.

Its a good motivation to go out and work with all of your heart to make a million dollars per year for a few years and just live off 100k till you get to 5 million in your trust funds... That would take care of people for generations down the line in your family.

Only problem with that is the 20%, if only it were that easy.. and doable, and w/o massive fund "disappearing" risk lol

I heard another funny comparo with Bill Gates... we can go buy 5 candy bars a day and that wouldn't put a dent in our pockets... Bill Gates can go buy 5 exotic cars a day and it wouldn't put a dent in his lol.

There plenty of people on this forum who could build a net worth of $40 million of they wanted to. For all the mid 6 figure earners, saving $1,000 a day or $365,000 a year for 37 years you'd have $41,168,697.75 at around 5% a year interest. That's saying you don't earn more in the future and don't contribute more into savings and investments.

Very few people randomly become wealthy, for most it's a lot of thinking and financial planning goes into it.
