        Naw I'm done.
When you said that I thought of an old boss I had.
Every time I would explain something to him he would look at me and say "Are you sure?"
Got to be a joke between us that no one else seems to get

Tis a very sad day indeed. Although I don't know the first thing about hacking, I support Project Chanology against The Church Of Scientology.

I suppose you think that the poor treatment of Bradley Manning is a good thing as well and think that Julian Assange should be arrested for espionage for having the gall to reveal the lies and hypocrisy of governments world wide.

I know this one hacker, and a cheap "wannabe" that always followed him around. The wannabe was WORSE! One day, he ended up getting arrested, and turned the other in. The REAL hacker now runs a computer security company. The other guy is probably aimless.

I looked for it but didn't see it. Perhaps I didn't recognize the title, or the thread could have been deleted.

More then that, Tflow was REPORTEDLY (forbes) to have been arrested. He was a big part of the LULZSECURITY effort.

It's not confirmed by Lulzsec yet (They confirmed the Cleary arrest)

Actually - I support what Assange does and, no, I don't like the treatment of Manning. Assange is led by his beliefs and I respect that - this particular group of hackers are led by ego.

The big charge against them is taking down visa and mastercard sites last December - they bragged about it after doing it. Computer smarts - yes. Street smarts - no.

I also wish they would be boiled in oil or something equally appropriate.

I have zero sympathy for them and as well for anyone who disrupts commerce, endangers national security or is otherwise a threat to the Internet or personal privacy.

I do not see one thing they are doing that justifies them breathing air. It used to be that hackers were little whiz kids that showed us where we had vulnerabilities and broke in to things simply because they could -- and they were actually not doing anything to steal or plunder - just show off and let us do CYA.

This group is very different - if they take a dime or reveal any confidential information - both of which they did, then I hope they never get out of prison.

Hurray for the FBI! Better late than never we should close all the breaches - and maybe leave a few open for entrapment - like bait cars. Soooo funny.

Update: FBI arrests 12 in 'Anonymous' hackers probe - Computerworld

"Cyberterrorists" - it's about time they call a spade a spade.* And such a banner day on that front with the Taliban claiming their phones were hacked by US Intelligence. HAHAHAHAH - awwww.

I am tired of silly people who believe they have any freedom at all. You are free to do whatever the government allows you to do. That's all the freedom you need and all the freedom you shall have. Government has the guns and you'd damned well better listen and obey. It's the only way to be happy and productive.

Anyone who disagrees with the government is, by definition, a terrorist. Terrorists should be locked away or killed at the convenience of the government. It is the only way to keep law-abiding citizens safe from seditious thought and action.

Who do those punks at anonymous think they are?
Actually, the constitution lays out a lot o restrictions for the GOVERNMENT. The amendments are nothing but restrictions on the government. The first is why the 1st, 4th, 5th, etc... were made. The second is why the 2nd was made. And terrorists generally attack the CITIZENS to strike terror, hence the name.

But yeah there are a LOT of laws, almost NEVER enforced, that make the mere ACCESS of another system a FELONY! Break into a system, and you COULD end up in jail. They are ALMOST NEVER enforced, but pirate a big corporations program, access a lot of CC info, access the government, and you could end up in jail in a matter of HOURS! That hacker I told you about? They got him on the mere ACCESS of AT&Ts system! Access through some FOREIGN government protected proxy, and it MIGHT take weeks, but the US government CAN find out if they try. They have been known to threaten other countries ability to even exist economically, to get less. They did that with SWITZERLAND!

Hacking used to be an almost innocent stunt by script kiddies as a way of having a laugh, but it seems too many have gone over to soem serious crimes

When it was mostly innocent, like 30 years ago, I DOUBT anyone would have called them "script kiddies" And it mostly WASn'T to have a laugh. ALSO, they generally didn't use what would be called scripts.

Interesting that you found this item newsworthy, and yet you consider the story about a global corporation hacking into private citizens phones a "media beat up".

    Just interesting, that's all.
