I've noticed that people tend to use the "Thanks" buttons so sparingly, that unless it revolutionizes the way someone sees their world or fixes a problem someone is having right out, people don't click "Thanks." However the text that appears when you thank someone is "The Following User(s) Says Thank You to <user> For This Useful Post:"

A Useful post? I would argue that any post that constructively contributes to a conversation is a useful post. Oh heck, I need to go back and thank a bunch of people on here...

What if you simply want to agree with what someone else has said though? I wouldn't want to cheapen value of the "Thanks" button since it does seem to be a tool to determine prestige, but I do hate cluttering up forums with posts that don't add anything new aside from agreeing with another post. Do you thank other warriors to back their opinion?

When do you thank people?

I use the thanks button often to say "I agree". It's up to you how you use it. You have about 20 thanks a day you can use. It's not unlimited, which is good - means you have to use it where it makes sense to you.
