Google+ over Facebook

There's been a lot of hype about Google + over the last few weeks. Unfortunately I've not managed to sign up yet which is a shame as it's definitely something I'm interested in trying out. That said, I can't imagine it taking over Facebook outright. Something like that will take time.

What you fellow warriors think about this?

    yeah, I tried signing up but they said it was too full and they would let me know when it's open. I'm curious myself to see how this turns out. It's gonna be hard to make facebookers jump ship.

      Google Plus is actually a lot more better than Facebook in terms of GUI and usability. It has issues with the privacy settings

    I'm really not sure on Google+. It seems like a novel idea, but Facebook is already spread around everywhere and integrated into people's everyday lives. Maybe Google+ will make it, maybe it won't, maybe it will co-exist? Who knows?

      facebook isn't the be all end all, facebook wasn't the first social site, not even close, and won't be the last. Why do you put so much trust in facebook? What has the company besides copy other sites and add an api?

    It is growing so fast 18 mil in one month and the ability to segment w circles is very appealing. I am putting together a G+ and +1 course i will have up here soon as a dim sale, just working w c writers etc.

    It's going to take quite some time before Google+ can actually grow and compete with Facebook. Based on initial data however it seems that it's growing at a fast rate with lots of people signing u for an account everyday.

    Google answers failed. You remember when google tried taking over yahoo answers? Google failed at trying to make their own video site as well so they had to buy it out from youtube and we'll see if they fail again when trying to compete with facebook.

      Yes, people are now using it,,, and some of the videos posted in Google+ have gone viral. At the same time, Facebook is very much still a crowd puller. I would still use both and the right mix of both will make ur online presence stronger

    I think with time Google+ will become more popular than facebook. Especially with all the changes Facebook are going through I think they will lose a lot of users to Google+, especially now that anyone can sign up for Google+.

    my taught:
    1) the interface is so white.. don't like it
    2) the font size is kind a big..
    3) the style was like some goggle group... don't like it either...

    hope some improvement if they want to beat FB..

    For those who think that Facebook will always be at number 1, and nothing will ever touch it, I will leave you with two words that prove that even the number 1 can lose big time when something new comes along.

      The scale of Facebook is incredible.. MySpace had never reached 750 millions. They also keep adding games, music (people won't log out of FB when listening to Spotify or Rdio etc), they added Hulu and people can watch that on FB, they keep adding reasons to come back.. MySpace was process of maturation for internet..

      Unless Facebook does huge boo-boo with user's data and sells it to someone secretly then everyone will leave it. Other than that don't be surprised if you will use Facebook as your credit card online.They could let you associate it with a bank account and buy thru FB anything...

        Ok this is getting out of control, i'm tired of facebook, I can't get away from it being online, it's bad enough sites think it's ok to advertise the site everywhere, and that using its login as a passport is a great idea!(not) but this credit card idea just makes me sad. I wish people would stop obessessing over facebook.

          It's very possible, or you will be buying real stuff for Facebook Credits much often. Some people do it already. I am not a biggest fan of FB myself, I use it, it's ok but they got huge huge potential and incredible opportunities. After IPO they can buy huge companies too and that would help them expand even more into media stuff.

      Not a good article... Facebook Subscribe feature just eliminated first argument for G+, I'm already subscribed to guy like Mark Cuban on there. Staying up to date with news is easy too when they show up on my stream if I want.. And G+won't make you popular amidst elite people.. where did come from...

        I remember when I first joined facebook, the interface was so annoying and not user friendly. I got frustrated trying to work out different things, like checking my profile.
        I haven't tried google+ yet, but I definitely plan to. If google continues to improve and brings new things to the social networking then I think they have a genuine chance to pass facebook.
