Chopper crash in Afghanistan kills several Seal Team Six members; This is
the group of Warriors who took out Bin Laden, and made the world a
safer place for us all.

Say a prayer for their families, and never forget our brave service men and
women who walk the walk, in Harms Way, so we can remain free.

    This is devastating...make no mistake.
    I read a news report that said it was the worst SEAL loss since WWII...
    they should do their homework. The modern day SEAL didn't come to be until Vietnam.
    President Kennedy got it going...the previous were Frogmen and not quite what the modern SEAL is.

    It is the worst mass ST loss in History.

    I have many friends in the SeaL community and just came from the local 'watering hole' in Coronado.

    To say the mood is somber would be an understatement.

    I have the same question as others...who's bright idea was putting 25 of the elite of the elite on a slow moving, target rich Chinook?
    Do I think it was coincidence? Someone dropped a proverbial ball...hope they hang em. This is a huge logistical mistake.

    I thought it was bad when they dropped six SEALs in the wrong place in Grenada, and they drowned...not even SEALs can swim forever.
    I hope the blame is public knowledge when it comes...of course it won't be...they'll blame it on the guy that launched the Helo....**** rolls downhill in the Military...trust me.
    I'm so pissed about this, I can't even see straight.
    It was crap like this that made me get out...for sure.

    but what "news agency" said this is the worst SEAL loss since WW2? -
    (or should I venture a guess?)

      I actually looked to answer your question...I can't find the report...they are upgrading reports quickly. Minor brain fart by them anyway...I'm just raggin at the moment.


      This is the worst single incidence in SEAL history. (at least that has been released.)

      The agency I saw first was not one of the major ones.

      There has been scuttlebut for quite some while, about them being used by Nato...outside of what they should. (trained for)

      If I were a betting man, this wont be the last you hear on the subject.


      Stop loss has gotten ridiculous...I have friends that have done 4/6 tours in Afghan and Iraq.

      Time for the draft...maybe some of these cooler than cool guys, will get a dose of reality.

      That the reality of freedom...is not free.

        I'm starting to agree. I used to be dead-set against the draft but lately have started to change my mind. I'm tired of rich kids not serving.

        But I'm really tired of politicians that support every war having boys of their own not serving. I wonder if there was a chance their own kids were put at risk if they'd be so eager to support wars?

    That was what hit me when I started thinking about it. When do they ever put VIP's all in one vehicle/plane/boat -- I doesn't fit right. It's just not how things are done. Ever. Why this time? Is it possible that it never happened but there's a reason we all need to think they are dead? That might sound whacked - but so does the fact that they were all in the same plane. Real whacked.

        Everything else aside my prayers for all the families directly connected with this tradegy.

        Whatever one's views are, these are still people at the end of the day and tonight family members are grieving for their loved ones.

        It matters not where tradegy takes place in the world to whomever of whatever race or creed or background or color or faith - tradegy is tradegy whichever way you look at it, when loved ones are taken away from us.

        May peace eternally be upon their souls and strength and character be with all who are left behind.
