I agree, this makes it not even worth responding as it takes 20 minutes to respond to FOUR pms.

Can this be adjusted to maybe something reasonable?

How about 30 seconds instead?

I've got a thread about this too... it's an agonizingly long wait, although I understand the purpose is to thwart the spammers. Can we just hava a captcha form on PMs instead? Or maybe lessen the wait for people over a certain number of posts?

I've had 70 PMs in one day. That was before the wait time was added. I'd probably still be answering PMs in 2024.

6 private messages x 5 minutes wait time in between each = 30 minutes waiting total.

I should point out that if basic reading comprehension presents a problem, you may want to consider proof reading your posts before attempting to make a smart ass remark.

Starting a thread with this type of subject line - and complaining again about something Admin explained recently - isn't the best idea.

The 5 minute delay may or may not remain - up to Allen - but there were reasons he implemented it and it's his forum.

Maybe instead of "PM me" in posts, it would be better to say "email me" and add an email address to your profile. That would eliminate the delay. I don't much care for the 300 seconds myself but I just work around it as everyone else is doing.

I support Harvey on this one. I don't think he was replying to your post. Like me he just noticed that Loz in his OP erroneously equaled 300 seconds to 6 minutes. That's wrong. 300 seconds equals 5 minutes.

But I agree that even 5 minutes is a little bit too long.
