  It just occured to me. You know how the record industry has built up a lot of ill-will with all the lawsuits and aggressive copyright enforcement? If they'd let people trade in their vinyl for a CD of the same album for a nominal fee they'd raise a lot of good will, and could make millions in the process. I wouldn't trade in my true collectors albums, but I'd trade in a lot of scratchy old albums.

Here's one of my favs of all time.

Check out the intro guitar by Mike "Kid Funkadelic" Hampton and when they start singing, you can fast forward to about 4:25 to hear the legendary nasty guitar duel with Gary "Starchild" Shider to end the song.
