Google redirect

Hey all. I have been noticing a problem when I click on search results on Google. I am hardly ever sent to the site, but rather redirected to a pill company or other spam or sales site having nothing to do with the actual search result.

Is this something with Google or some kind of virus or malware on my computer?

    Sounds like a virus/malware...if you don't have spybot (free) download it/update it.

    I will assume you know how to get into safe mode, if running Windows. If you don't know how, run a search on your type of motherboard. Company site recommended.

    It is one of the most underrated free anti this that and the other, on the net.

    Safe mode doesn't let programs run, when they don't run, they can't hide, (to paraphrase Joe Louis.)

    It has been keeping up well with rootkits.

    Give it a shot and then we'll see what else to do.

    Safe Mode tho, if on Windows...

      This is some kind malware or virus, you may try using Ad-Aware by Lavasoft or Spybot Search and destroy. Safe mode is a good option, but I would recommend a software called Sandboxie. It's 100% free and you can download that from Sourceforge if I remember well. The software allows to run any application in some kind of sandbox just like the name of the software says. Every potential virus run in this software can't get out of the sandbox and infect anything. I usually use virustotal when I'm not 100% certain about origin of the file I'm interacting with and then additionaly I use Sandboxie in case the file is binded with something fully undetectable by antivirus sofware.     Microsoft released their own on demand tool called I think: Microsoft safety scanner

    Also, sometimes I've found it helpful to copy the url under the description instead of clicking the link, but that doesn't work for very long links.

    You might try scroogle.org, they strip out the redirects.

    These are workarounds to get you to a program to disinfect your PC, which is infected!

    OMG Google redirect virus! I have discovered the easy way to completely and permantly fix google redirect virus. Just throw out your computer and get a brand new one. Works every time. but seriously I recommend Not entering any important info like using banking sites when you have that on your computer, google redirect often comes with other nasties. good luck~
