Sudden Temperature Drop :(

Whew, it was a gorgeous day today here in Virginia Beach, high around 80 degrees, averaging out to about 74.

Even the night time was beautiful, probably hit around 70 degrees around 10pm.

But then suddenly, BAAM. Winds all around, temperature dropped and is still dropping like mad (supposed to get in the upper 40's tonight).

Since I rode my motorcycle today, you can see why this is a big deal to me.

Great ride all day since 2pm, went to see my dad, went to the gym, had dinner with a good friend, and then I'm riding home freezing cold.

Anyhow, that's my little blurb. Just thought it was odd.

Here in lower NY State we had a wet snow last night (no accumulation) and they are predicting between 3 and 6 inches this Saturday with freezing conditions into Sunday morning.

    Ugh.

Steve - didn't know you were in Jersey City. I was down your way in September running in the Newport Liberty Half Marathon. I woulda dropped in

      Oh man up
It was 50 with a light rain when we rode to Ausable two weeks ago and 48 when we rode to Hunter Mt. last week.

It's 27 at the moment and we've got a couple inches of snow on the ground.

You may have actually PASSED me! ROTFLMAO! One day, in september, a SATURDAY IIRC, I went down for an early lunch, and a whole bunch of marathoners passed me! At the time, I was staying at the hyatt on the hudson! I could actually see the statue from my 8th floor room. YEP, I'm still going to be in the area a couple months. NOT next week, or thanksgiving week, but almost every other week this year. Of course, it may not be at the hyatt. I was only there for about 3 weeks.

BTW I am not REALLY sure why they call it the hyatt on the hudson, but it IS on hudson street and on the NJ side of the hudson river. 8-) Like I said, WHO KNOWS?

Check the records. Last time I checked, we hadn't. BTW it hasn't snowed yet HERE, but apparently MIGHT have in jersey city, NJ, though it may simply have been cold rain. 8-(

While I don't know the official number, it looks like there's a foot or a bit more on my back deck

And this morning the sky is a brilliant blue.

Our trees are bent over from all the snow on the leaves. Quite a site in the early morning sun.

Most should melt today as we're expecting temps in the mid to upper 40s...

Rainy and cold in Texas, then sunny and 95 degrees, then snowing... all before lunchtime.
Ok, not really, but even after being here for a year, the extreme variation in Texas weather still surprises me sometimes!!!

I just hope we don't get the record colds that many places experienced the last couple of winters. If we get there again this winter, it will mark the onset of global famine. We had spots of record colds 2 years running and scientists now know that it only takes a decade to leave interglacial warms. Not good.
