UPDATE By Ken 6 FEB 2013:
Thank everyone so much for their support during this ongoing challenge. A couple days ago I was diagnosed with a detached retina and told I need surgery ASAP. My insurance ran out months ago and I haven't been able to find new insurance yet.
The cancer is still going on, and I finished some radiation treatments last week. I've made arrangements with the Medical Center to take care of that stuff even without insurance.
The Swedish Medical Center in Seattle has arranged for a hospital bed and the use of the facilities, but all the eye surgeons are privately employed and I have to pay them. I need about $5,000 before they will do it, and the sooner the surgery happens the better odds of a completely successful outcome.
So if you haven't purchased this WSO yet, or even if you have and want to purchase again as a way of donating a bit more, that would be SO appreciated -- Ken

Mods - please let this ride: a long time Warrior's life depends on it.
For those of you who have not yet heard, our Warrior friend Ken Strong has been diagnosed with melanoma. It has gone far enough to have invaded a lymph node.
Ken has decided on DMSO for treatment. This procedure uses a few elements along with chemo that keep the chemo working on tumors while keeping it from destroying healthy cells. Unfortunately - while this treatment has been proven to work, insurance will not cover it.
Ken needs to raise $12,000 for this crucial treatment ....fast. He also has to travel to get this treatment so will need extra for lodging.
He has set up a donation button on his blog -- please give generously and keep him alive to watch his child grow up.
Also - if anyone has products or skills available for a fundraiser - let me know asap. There are very few clinics which give this treatment - when he gets arrangements made for one, we will announce the location and anyone in that general vicinity that can help in arrangements of inexpensive housing during his treatment will be so appreciated.
Let's not lose another Warrior to this disease - help us get him to life-saving treatment as quickly as we can. It's a small bit to ask for a Warrior who has been with us for many years now.
Thanks for anything anyone can help with. All efforts will be helpful -- all, no matter how small, will be appreciated.
I'm not ready to lose another friend. I pray you are not either. The faster we get this done, the better his odds.
Lets do this one! WE ARE THE WARRIORS.
