Haven't seen much of Dos Santos, but if Cain can pull off the boxing fest he did against Lesnar, (who couldn't box his way out of a wet paper bag) which I did see, I would have to give it to Cain.

    He looked great against Brock.

I agree...And for the same reasons, just haven't seen Dos Santos.

Lesnar can punch, but has absolutely no defensive skills, so if he gets hit by a heavy hitter, it's game over.

I'll also take Cain, just because of Dos Santos...Who? If if there's a Dos Santos, is there also an Uno Santos? I think I'll tweet Ocho Cinco and see if he knows.

I don't think too many people are going to be asking "Dos Santos...Who?" any more.

I suspect that Cain Velasquez will win on the ground -- not by boxing. Junior Dos Santos is widely considered to be a better boxer.

To me, this a problem with MMA/UFC, espeically the heavy weights. It seems they get a champ, he lasts for about a fight, then gets knocked out and a new guy is champ. He lasts a fight or so, then he gets knocked out and another guy takes over.

IMO, the UFC needs a guy to hold the title for a while for fans to be able to relate. Fedor was close to being this guy, but wouldn't fight for Dana White, and now Fedor has lost 3 straight after not losing for about a decade.

And even with all of the UFC's gaining popularity, let's not forget that Manny will probably make as much money off his fight tonight as all UFC fighters combined for the year. Boxing lets a fighter build a big fan base. Manny's built his fa base by winning every fight for a very long time. But with the turnover in MMA, I'm not sure a fighter can build a fanbase before he loses 2-3 fights.

Those are the reasons I like MMA. The unpredictability of mixed martial arts and sense that anything can happen add to the intrigue. That said, Anderson Silva and Georges St. Pierre have been champions for quite some time now in their respective divisions. Tito Ortiz and Chuck Liddell also held onto their belts for a good number of fights.

None of the guys you mentioned were/are heavyweights. To me, it cheapens being the Champ when champs are a dime a dozen.

            isn't Manny a lightweight?

Who is the Boxing heavyweight champ?

Isn't Georges St. Pierre a welterweight? A lot of good competition in that class and VERY respectable that he has gotten the job done so many times and so consistently it's almost that people overlook how good the competition is since he seems to win them all.

Isn't Anderson Silva a middleweight? Same scenario as Pierre. A lot of good competition there but so many people overlook it since The Spider seems to whip them all. He's a smart guy. Was getting his butt kicked against ego maniac Sonnen, but found a way to win... that's what champions do.

So many Pro boxers have already admitted to being wrong about their impressions of the UFC. (Bernard Hopkins)

disclaimer: I love Boxing. In no way am I "bad mouthing" boxing. I also love mma.

back on topic.... that was a monster over the top hit by Junior.

Best part about this ENTIRE fight and scenario:

BOTH fighters had respect, dignity, and class BEFORE and AFTER the fight. Very humble guys and GREAT role models... and always smiling... much better than I can say about many other fights.

Anyone who regularly watches UFC agree that UFC on Fox absolutely sucked?

The fight coverage by Mike and Jo was good as always, but the pre-fight and post-fight stuff was **** house.

I enjoyed the hour and once they went to the Octagon I was excited for the fight to take place.

It was short, sweet and vicious. That hit to the head was so loud and I nearly spilled my beer jumping up out of my chair. I wish it would've gone longer, but with the heavyweights it's either over quick or goes the distance in a boring ass bout.

A side note. Did any longtime fans see that the Bud Light logo was noticeably missing from the middle of the octagon? Do they only sponsor their pay per view events?
