The Worst TV Commercial Is.......?

Sadly, some of the most irritating TV commercials turn out to be among
the most successful. I would have thought that "Toyotathons" had done
more to promote the use of the mute button than any other single item
in the history of TV. As it turns out, its considered among Ad circles as
being one of the most successful ongoing campaigns ever. They do case
studies about it in marketing classes. IM has changed the way I look at
look at all ads. I finally understand one of my old college profs who explained
the way TV looks at programming. ADs are not the interruption in regular
programming. ADs ARE the regular programming! "Regular" programming is
just the hook that gets us to stay tuned for the commercials. What TV
commercials do you think are the most irritating and most successful?

    What irritates me is the commercial for Mineral Veil makeup, or Mineral something (you see I tune this out if I can't reach the remote to change the channel)

    The most irritating part is it comes on 100 times in a row on a couple channels. These are real ladies who really use the product - they couldn't possibly be actors - and as such they are obnoxious in every way and need voice lessons, etc.

    Doubly irritating is paying through the nose for digital cable TV - it used to be that meant no commercials - not so - even the movie channels have commercials for other channels in their 'suite'.

    My favorite is any ad done by the Geico Gecco - I will stop what I am doing just to watch and listen to him - as he says, people love icons. (I hate Geico just the same).

      its on late at night.
