I would definitely do it for short periods like 3 or 4 days at a time... This place is so addicting.

    You can. Seriously. Some veteran members have done just that more than once just to give themselves time to concentrate. Just ask any mod and they'll take care of it for you.

      It's called discipline John. I find that I spend more time doing other things than
      I do here. At one time, I would have laughed at the thought of that. But my
      priorities have changed in the last year.

      If I feel I have something important to contribute or there is a topic that is
      extremely riveting, I'll pop in and add my 2 cents.

      But for the most part, I hardly know what goes on around here anymore. In
      fact, this whole year I don't think I've made more than 1,000 posts. Compare
      that to the 3,000 plus posts I made per year in my first 5 years and you can see
      the difference.

      And what it does more than anything else is that it gives me perspective.

      Sometimes you are just so close to something all the time that you can't see
      the forest for the trees. Then you take a step back and take some time
      away from things and you begin to see things a lot more clearly.

      Point is John, if you need some time away from this place, just take it. You
      don't really need a mod to put the hammer down on you to get you to take
      a vacation.

    Yeah, right! I've quit opening threads in the main forum because they last about 90 seconds. I don't even put my products in my sig. anymore. No worrys John. I'm sure it'll be OK.

    Every once in awhile I need to reboot my PC ( windows ... who would have guessed ) and just before I restart Outlook and Skype, I am conflicted between the peace I have with it closed , and the 'need' to know if someone is trying to contact me !
    Guess I have a way to go to master my own domain .......
