ThomM, nice bike by the way! I have a Heritage Software as well. It is a classic like your with the studded bags and seat, but mine is black!!

Take it up with the person I'm having a problem with!! WOW!! SHAZAAM!!! Well Geez, why didn't I think of that!! We can just do away with the entire court systems now because we call all solve our problem with the person we have a problem with!!!

Seriously, that makes about as much sense as a Football Bat, if I could find a solution to a moderator who is abusing his powers, I wouldn't need to post here would I?

Yeah well, it seems anyone around here who has their own opinion seems to get banned or their posts deleted!

I was asking who to contact about this issue and if that gets me banned, that would be a prime example of misuse of powers!

WF is a little to politicy for me!! I find better info and less pompous people on other boards! Main reason for WF is WSOs!

My friend, it seems like you need a serious attitude adjustment.

If Paul has gotten on your case for any reason at all, I can assure you that you deserved it. I have found him to be the most fair and unbiased person here. When I screwed up, he told me in no uncertain terms. When I stopped screwing up and actually started contributing to the forum without the drama and other nonsense that I always seemed to bring, he told me that too.

If I have a problem, I know I can come to him. If he can help me, he will. He's given me invaluable advice in the past that saved me thousands of dollars.

Maybe you don't care whether or not you get booted from this forum. But if you're smart, you'll look at what transpired between you and Paul and hopefully realize that there was a good reason for it.

Take this advice for what it's worth to you.

I appreciate your concern, but I find it hard to believe you claims that Mr. Myers is as perfect as you claim! Well geez, why don't I just quit thinking for myself and let Mr. Myers do all my thinking! What you mean by attitude adjustment is I need to comply! Be a good little boy and do as Paul Meyers wishes or get banned!

I have to be honest, being banned for having an opinion would mean less to me than the toilet paper I use! Tomorrow I'll still wake up, drink coffee and life will go on!

WF on the other hand will have lost a member that has been with them for along time and buys alot thru their WSO system!

Make no difference to me!

First that's a Road Star not a Harley.
Second this forum isn't a democracy or a republic, it's a forum, privately owned.
The forum owner wrote the rules and you violated rule number 1, period.
If you have an issue with that or a problem with the rules Allen made for his forum, leave.
If you have an issue with a hosting company, again take it up with them, while here refer to rule number 1.

Personally I could care less if you or anyone else has a problem with Paul or any other member, again rule number 1.

It appears you know about rule #1 and you're now egging on a ban in order to "prove your point".

You could pick anyone to start a public beef with on the forum in violation of rule #1 and if you continue at it you'll probably get banned. Doesn't matter if your beef is with Paul Myers or with a newbie or whomever.

As has been stated, this is a privately owned forum. Allen Says can do whatever he wants with it.

As to the conflict of interest, I don't follow. The WSO section is really just a classified ad section. How is it a conflict of interest? Vendor pays Allen Says to display their ad as a WSO and that's that.

You can leave negative review on a WSO as long as you keep it to an actual review of the product you bought vs. getting personal.

Anywho, don't get all worked up patch. Life is too short and it's the holidays.

Is that what started this?
If so, did you purchase the product and leave a negative comment about the WSO you purchased, or was it a negative comment about the seller and not related to the WSO you purchased?

It actually off topic, as I'm not specifically asking about the WSO or vendor, but since your asking, yes I was a PAID customer! 3 years in advance!

I caught the company (Host The Name) in many lies and they are amatures who didn't know how to do basic hosting issues like HTACCESS stuff. Plenty of other people were complaining to but WF allowed them to create new threads! Some of the posts did stick, but it makes me wonder how many more were deleted as well...

I've always found SEO hosting to be useless and more advantage to simply have tons of individual hosts around the nation so we have many hosting companies! There were just a simply trial and the failed miserably! Down all the time, poor support, lies, etc.

This was months ago, that I had my initial beef with then and Mr. Meyers stepped in. It only recently popped up because I can't seem to get these guys to quit emailing me on their list. I've unsubscribed, I'm posted in their threads as an active customer, but they get deleted.

Currently in their thread they have been down for 3 days and customers are furious that it is during the holiday season and websites are down!

We are not talking about just 1 post, we are talking about 15 posts that I've tried to repost after they get deleted and the vendor continues to get them deleted! It almosted seemed like the vendor knew a moderator and they were doing them favors!

Seriously though, I see a lot of people give Paul a load over the net.

this is a huge forum that is well run and he's one of the reasons...don't know what you did....but he has to uphold rules for the good of all.

This is a privately owned forum, therefore has it's own set of rules...can you imagine the amount of crap these mods see in a day ..sometimes the same crap, day in day out?

I understand the need for rules, but when you abuse you powers it needs to be addressed. There is a vendor providing horrible hosting service and Paul is protecting them by deleting my post in the thread! And 100% based on remark I made in a Peronsal Message to him he somehow thinks he can prevent me from posting on their thread as an ACTIVE customer of theirs!

Their service is so horrible they have been down for the past 3 days!

I don't agree with screwin anyone over either, however people run around on parts of the net saying that this is just short of Sodom and Gomorrah...

I am a moderator on another forum and I can tell you that it is a HUGE job.
You don't do yourself any service by sounding off in here Patchworks.
While I don't know Paul or you and I can't say who may be right or wrong, the crap that you are spinning in here is enough to get you banned, without even looking at whatever your original issue is.

If you have a problem, be an adult, maybe then you'll have the chance to deal with it properly.

There is a rule here and it is about not 'bashing' - and the rule about taking it up directly with whoever slighted/burned you. (Ref: the lousy hosting company)

It really has nothing to do with you or Paul for that matter. It is just a rule. Rules should be equally for everyone. So you just need to chill out and get over it if you have a difference of opinion with the Warrior Forum.

I am a moderator in a sub-forum here - and I used to allow all kinds of ugly talk because I was afraid of being judged for suppressing free speech - so I would go in and try to spar with people - it always added a ton more negative energy and I came off as the one who was the most hostile.

So now, I have allowed myself the pleasure of nuking people for being rude, nasty or ugly. Being a Mod is no picnic and if people don't get a clue when the post is just quietly deleted and they stupidly come back and attack me for it, I have no choice but to have them banned.

This is a privately owned Forum - not public property - so the owner has set the rules and although I hope you won't 'cut off your nose to spite your face', it is your choice whether you come here or not. If you choose to come, then you need to go along with the program like everybody else.

Like you say, either way, life goes on - for the Forum and for you.

p.s. It would be the Forum Helpdesk where you could lodge a complaint privately about so-called 'abuse of power'.

Thank you for your help! Yes, I have submitted tickets, but my experience is they get ignored! I have one that was submitted a few days ago and as of yet, it was either answered by Mr. Myers and deleted or simply ignored!

If the attitude of a board is not have an opinion or move on, I'll choose move on!!

You seem to be confusing the right to have an opinion with the right to proclaim it wherever you want.

The way I see it is, you have a dispute with a business independent of the Warrior Forum, but you want to make the Warrior Forum your personal battlegrounds. Try going to a local newspaper and demanding they print your greivances for free against one of their advertisers. You'll get laughed off the premises.

If your active in the forum then you should know the deal. Lots of WFO's selling to newbies to make WF and the people selling WSO's money. There is no moderation of the WSO's and you purchase at your own risk and suck it up when the WSO sucks. You can not make a bad review in a WSO thread because it looses both WF and the WSO author money. Bad reviews are deleted. Quit whining or go to another forum.

I simply don't agree!!! That is the only reason I come to this forum is to sort out what product are good and bad! My purchasing decisions are 100% based on feedback from the community and it is a simple conflict of interest for you to imply you can milk both sides of the money machine!

Look at my posts counts, I've been on this forums for years and I dont' contribute much in the way of posts. They only get deleted anyway or your threads overrun with people butting in!

I just come to get product and service information! I don't even find this board that useful for SEO information anymore!

That's not for me to decide.

But i will say, sometimes when i get pissed off, i lose site of things, and blow things out of proportion. Sometimes its in my best interest to step back for a min and reevaluate things.

Dennis, although I understand what your saying, I don't agree!!! WF is a community designed exactly for expressing review, opinions and other interactions about all sorts of topics! That is the entire backbone of a forums like this!

The fact WF is making money off the vendor and wont let me post negative comments is a conflict of interest. I would argue the income I provide from the 40+ WSOs I've purchased is just as important in WF's money machine!

But I also have to point out this thread was not about the vendor! It was about abuse of power from a moderator and who to contact! It has grown to become something else though!

You can post negative comments if you follow the rules. I've posted negative comments before. In one case my comments effectively ended the WSO.

In my experience, it's how you go about it that determines whether your comments stick or get deleted.

I agree, as long as you appease the WF gods you get you comments posted!! And then only sometimes do they delete comments that is going to hurt their money train!!

But if the service was poor and you plan on leaving a bad review, post it from a 3rd-person point of view. Meaning dont make things personal. Post it as if you were a news reporter - stick to the facts and then provide proof to back up your claims.

Actually the deleting of the posts is not really my complaint of misuse of powers. I expressed my opinion in a personal message to him and based on that message he think he can disallow me to post in the vendors thread! The personal message was not in the public view yet he thinks he can dictate to me!

I've said me peace on the thread, this hosting company has had their server down for 3 days now and customer and filling the thread with poor customer service issues the this company has finally sunk it own ship I believe. I pointed this out Mr. Myers back months ago and not WF is going to regret their decision to support this vendor! It just to bad so many WF members were allowed to get messed over by this company! I myself lost my funds tied up but it was a small amount compared to our total hosting budget and many other hosts around the nation!

Seriously, do you know how easy it is for people to create sub accounts and post on this vendors thread if I really wanted to!!! Hell, I could get some of my oDesk workers to do it for .67 cents an hour!

Seriously your a newbie and if you are stupid enough to go with some no name to do your hosting then your a newbie that has a lot to learn. The owner of the WSO basically owns the thread. He can delete what he wants and keep what he doesn't. This forum is about making money and the owners of the forum are doing just that. No one cares about you and it is a dog eat dog world out there in IM. This should be your first lesson. Now quit whining, take to heart what you learned and go buy a WSO and put it into action.

Absolutely wrong. people who buy the thread CANNOT delete comments.

If they feel a thread is bashing there WSO, or against forum rules, they can REQUEST a moderator look into it.

Calling another member by the extremely nasty racist labels you used in the PM in question is hardly the sort of simple personal opinion you're suggesting. If you had done that to him publicly, I would have nuked your account on the spot.

I was listening to you, and asked you for specifics, right up until that point. Largely because what you said and what the vendor said are contradictory. When you made it clear that you were going to let that sort of comment even enter your mind while dealing with your issue, you crossed a line.

As far as your ludicrous suggestion that I removed your comments because we're somehow trying to protect the vendors, even when they're wrong... Learn to read. There are plenty of other posts still in that thread complaining about the same issue.

You can not make a bad review in a WSO thread because it looses both WF and the WSO author money. Bad reviews are deleted.

Go look at the WSO section again. There are plenty of negative reviews there. Comments get deleted for other reasons, but not for being negative - if they come from someone who paid for the product and is talking about the product or the service, without making it a personal attack.

The owner of the WSO basically owns the thread. He can delete what he wants and keep what he doesn't.

Also not true. We do not allow vendors to moderate their own threads, precisely because it would effectively end the ability of customers to post their real opinions of the products they purchased.

Now, if you get into a persistent running battle with anyone in a WSO thread and we see it, we'll delete most of those posts. If Glenn looked at the thread in question, he'd see that at least one of his complaints is still there from yesterday. But not all of them.

Which might serve him as a useful hint.

Dude, you need to get a clue and so do any others agreeing with your assertion that the mods delete negative comments to "protect" their income.

First, moderators do not get PAID to moderate this board. So there is no financial incentive whatsoever for any mod.

Second, if it were true, there wouldn't be a bunch of other negative comments on that same WSO, including ONE of your own. That implies that you crossed a line in your posts that caused them to be deleted.

You can cry and whine and rant about Paul and the way the board is run all you want. He's been around this forum since pretty much the beginning so I doubt very much you'll get very far. Any other mod would have done the same thing because they follow the direction of Allen, the one who owns the forum.

If you let a silly spat over posts being deleted get you this heated, I can't imagine how you've managed to survive all these years without having a stroke from all the stress.

The part I bolded is incorrect. The WSO vendor cannot delete anything but his own posts. He can request something be deleted, and sometimes it will be and sometimes it won't be.

Often, if someone is making repetitious critical comments the mod will delete some of them but leave a representative sample there. This prevents one person with an axe to grind from taking over the thread.

I'm not a mod, but from what I've seen one reason comments get deleted is because the person with the beef gets personal, or gets too emotional, rather than sticking to facts that can be proven. Negative opinions don't carry as much weight as negative facts, and rightfully so, opinions are much harder to prove.

This is true! The owner can not delete posts, but he CAN click the report and have it submit for delete if I'm correct! And [seller's name deleted] very actively tried to keep his propaganda thread clean!

Referring to generic people using a generic term like "dumbass" is very different from your calling a specific individual a "camel j____y" and a "sand n____r." If you're unable to distinguish between the two sorts of comments, there's a problem. But it's not MY problem.

Note: He spelled the terms out, although he dropped a letter in the last word in the second phrase.

Your use of those terms suggests to me that further comments from you in the thread in question would be driven by racial dislike, rather than any possible objective purposes. Hence the instruction that you not post in his threads again. Ever.

I suggested approaches you might use to deal with what you claim to be a broken unsubscribe mechanism. Those were precisely the approaches I would use myself in the same situation.

They even went as far as to abandon old threads because there were riddled with bad comments!!!

But, if negative reviews are deleted, as you and so many others claim, how is it possible that whole threads of them still exist?

The simply fact is I got tired of going back and forth with you over stupid things I didn't care about! After the 5th email back and forth with you over debating whether or not I was an active customer, I got fed up and blasted back at you! Mr. Myers, after my last post, I no longer have a need for this thread and as such will unsubscribe and not post again! I have said my peace and in my eye it gave this thread finality with my last post! As being an American give you the right to disagree or agree, I do respect your choice!

I appreciate your work on the forums and it has obviously given value to this community! I have tried to not attack you personal, but if you feel I have please accept my apologies!

I wrote off this hosting company long ago and it only reopens the issue every time they send me an email! Second, if it were true, there wouldn't be a bunch of other negative comments on that same WSO, including ONE of your own. That implies that you crossed a line in your posts that caused them to be deleted.

You can cry and whine and rant about Paul and the way the board is run all you want. He's been around this forum since pretty much the beginning so I doubt very much you'll get very far. Any other mod would have done the same thing because they follow the direction of Allen, the one who owns the forum.

If you let a silly spat over posts being deleted get you this heated, I can't imagine how you've managed to survive all these years without having a stroke from all the stress.

Actually you need to get a clue lady! The fact these guys have been around for years is the exact problem!! They start thinking they can do anything they want!! That actually isn't what this thread is about, but someone ask the original problem and so I told them about the issue!! My reason for posting was not even about the posts, it was about Paul overstepping his bounds!

Based on the comments from others in that thread, he certainly has a valid complaint about the downtime issue. I asked him to give me details that would show the vendor to not be honoring his posted refund policy, if that were the case. I never got those.

Glenn insists he's still a paying customer with an active account. As I understand things, demanding a full refund of all monies paid counts as a request to also close the related account. Glenn seems to have different beliefs on that point.

He also seems to think we should close offers and ban members if things don't go well. Looking at the thread in question, I see a LOT of positive comments about the value delivered. I also see a lot of complaints. It's a very low-cost hosting service, which pretty much guarantees there'll be more downtime than an experienced person is likely to find acceptable.

You get what you pay for.

The racist comments were the end. Unlike the situation Gareth referred to earlier, there isn't any room for doubt about the nature of the phrases Glenn used. I'd have nuked anyone who directed them at another member publicly in this forum.

The specific epithets in question were directed at people of Arab or Persian descent. You can probably figure out what they were, based on that.

As for you old rags...er...patchwork -- there are limits to power even owning a website. Certain views, when attacking another personally, can get a website owner sued for defamation of character and even libel. Do you think that your opinions are somehow worth that risk? Doesn't seem you've been any too effective at making anyone else think so. Considering that you have taken a personally offensive attitude toward anyone here that doesn't agree with you - and I am sure you will attack me as well for saying so, I can't imagine that you had anything logical to say in the posts that were deleted.

Nobody seems impressed at you crapping your pants in public. You are free to continue to do so, of course, but I wouldn't count on support for it and I would not consider this a good medium hereafter for your business propagation, if you, indeed, even have one.

Don't worry about it, though - after you get out of high school, I'm sure you'll develop a very different opinion of business conduct. Until then, you might want to hope that nobody in here decides to plague your own website or blog (if you have one) in any way shape or form that will force you to become a hypocrite. Until then....acidophiles is an excellent remedy for intestinal spasms.

Well, this thread certainly took a few interesting turns while I caught a few hours sleep. Here's an ironic twist...

Patchwork, you're actually send the company you have the problem with more business. After all this I had to go look for the thread in question, saw the crazy low priced hosting, and decided to buy!

I wouldn't use that hosting for my money sites, but it's plenty good enough for feeder sites even if they do have a little more down time than other hosts.
