I have NEVER reacted this way, and can't understand why ANYONE would! Apparently it is the latest riot to happen in the US. People have torn doors off of hinges! One guy will apparently go to jail because he shot his gun to get everyone to take cover. When they did, he moved up in line!

So WHAT caused this? That is what I would like to know BUT, from what I gather, there were shoes that I guess were tauted as being MAGIC. But people couldn't buy THEM anymore. Yep, they COULDN'T buy them for maybe 14 years, until basically this morning. Yeah, you heard me, this morning! And NOW, they are acting like they are starving lions, and this is the only meat left on the planet. To quote a person at the end of this story:

Shoppers described the scene as chaotic and at times dangerous.

Carlisa Williams said she joined the crowd at the Southcenter for the experience and ended up buying two pairs of shoes, one for her and one for her brother. But she said she'll never do anything like it again.

"I don't understand why they're so important to people," Williams told KING-TV. "They're just shoes at the end of the day. It's not worth risking your life over."
Can SOMEONE explain this?

Clodhoppers? I like it. Filing this word away for future reference.

Me? I swear by a pair of green welly boots, wear them every time I go out, summer and winter. Love 'em. Good for mud and there be plenty of that here.

My tastes are CONSERVATIVE! If my shoes get too worn, I have to go to like 5 stores before I can find them! WHY? Because others apparently want STRANGE, COLORFUL, FANCY with LOTS of parts and gadgets, and probably CHEAPER made, although they may COST more.

The sneakers I pick are relatively simple sneakers. WHITE, with MAYBE 1 or 2 colors on trim. Leather or vinyl uppers, rubbery soles, laces. The kind of shoes that were COMMON like 50s-70s.

The dress shoes I like are close to black oxfords. Black, with maybe a LITTLE trim, leather uppers, rubbery soles, laces. These kinds of shoes have been popular like forever, but lost favor a couple decades ago.

Shoes today may have tons of colors, lots of weird trim, and odd materials.

        Am I weird here? MAYBE!
