Have a look at this...was just browsing a site when I noticed this weight loss advertisement. (see image below)

It reads "Dad of 57 Gets Ripped in 4 Weeks"

Now, for those that dont know, the guy shown in the photo is Stuart MacDonald. Hes a film maker who shoots documentaries, and in particular, one titled...."I want to look like that guy"

Heres the official website...

looklikethatguy

Heres the shorts.

If you'll note it took him SIX MONTHS! - Not 4 weeks.

Oh, and by the way, he's 42, NOT 57.

TOTAL BS!

Maybe the banner should add the word "Off" at the end of the hyperlink.

        It's everywhere.

Even the Discovery Channel ran a documentary in the UK several years ago with the suggestion that they were making people into competing bodybuilders within a few weeks.

The people who took part were already muscular / ex bodybuilders and powerlifters who had managed to gain about 10lbs of fat which hid their otherwise decent physique. Their only job was then to rid of this bodyfat but the process was played out into a big unnecessary drama.

They came to a forum I ran to pluck some participants. The programme aired, it was BS as expected and no-one had a good word to say about how they directed it.

The only thing which fetches maintanable results is hard work and good eating - and that refers to quantity too.

Isn't that right up there with "make $10,000 a month in 2 months" or "make thousands a week in 1 hr a day"?

Actually it is quite possible to do it in 4 weeks. It's not safe and healthy but no problem. You take a former athlete who gained a few pounds, then you get him back in the gym and put him on Clen and T3 and GH + cardio and then hit him with a strong diuretic before the shoot and "viola" you have a ripped person....

Doing it "naturally" is completely impossible of course.

The fitness industry hits new lows year after year. They passed this photoshop law for fashion advertising I can only hope they do the same for fitness models. 99% of them are on steroids and the supplements had NOTHING to do with their look... Can't rip on them too much because at least they promote a healthier life style and diet but it's still wrong to lie to people.

I would completely ban adverts with genetically gifted people sponsoring a product for "fat loss" or muscle. Pro athletes are genetic freaks and what works for them will not work for you. Fact is the biggest guys in BB have one thing in common: A huge tolerance towards anabolic steroids. The super ripped guys have good genetics and they eat big macs and fast food but are still ripped to shreds. Nothing is real in the fitness industry not even the tits of the female models.

... it's funny: the "before" picture looks more Photoshopped than the "after" picture.

You weren't the only one that thought that. The moment I saw "Dad of 57", I already felt the ad was shady... actually, the before and after images were shady, but yeah, I was thinking the same thing... like no way this guy has 57 children, and if so, why flaunt that out there like that? LOL!

I don't ever click on any of those ads, but you know what, sadly, there are a lot of people that do... just like there are still people that are getting scammed by spam emails from the Nigerian Embassy stating a chunk of money is waiting them, or just like people buy the "Make $50,000 tomorrow by doing these 4 simple things..." type ads, etc.

I want to make money, but I also want to present value and have repeat interested clients if I release other products as well, not just scam for some time. It all catches up with you in the end.

You made the most valid point when you said

"The worst bit is how people don't think critically"

It is sad to say that when someone is feeling really desperate to change something or for something they want, they will jump on anything.

We all have fallen for it.

Years ago, I implemented the 3 day rule.

Ever notice that health programs, medicines, and martial arts are all marketed in the same three ways?

There are probably other examples that I haven't thought of...

The other thing I keep noticing about those types of ads:

      1. Hair Loss
      2. Weight Loss
      3. Wrinkle Creams
      4. Get The Gray Out Of Your Hair
      5. Fix Your Teeth
      6. Acne
      etc.

Is that the before shot, people always look miserable - ALWAYS!!

And after, they always look happy!!

I cannot believe that all of those people were unhappy BEFORE...

      And suddenly transformed into happy...

Every time I see it, I can hear the camera man in the BEFORE example saying...

Just for the sake of this photo shoot, could you pretend that you are the most miserable schmuck on the planet.

We want people to see the contrast between the "old" you and the new "beautiful" you in the AFTER shot.

I can tell you right now, that dropping body fat isnt easy, and its not just a matter of popping some magical pill.

Ive been dieting for 9 weeks, and have lost 15kg (dropped from 123kg to 108kg) and want to get down to 9% bodyfat.

The constant tiredness, hunger, and lack of concentration (due to low carbs) are all part of whats involved.

The guy in this photo dropped 20% bodyfat in total, which, If done over 4 weeks, as stated in the photo (which would be physically impossible anyway mind you) would see you in hospital.

How do you do it without losing muscle? Tons of cardio?

      fLufF
      --
      Protein intake.

Ideally, you want to consume 2gm of protein per kilogram of bodyweight.

So for myself, starting at say 120kg (to make it easy) I was taking in, 240gm of protein per day. Thats intake, not "protein weight".

Sources of protein include, fresh fish, chicken breast, lean steak etc.

      In addition to that ....supplements.

Protein powders, branch chain aminos, L-Glutamine, HMB, etc etc etc

All intended to prevent muscle loss.

Believe it or not, I dropped the first 10kg without any cardio. You've just got to be strict with your diet. I weigh and measure EVERYTHING. Every meal is planned.

The diet spans 12 weeks, with carbs tapering off gradually and the introduction of cardio in the last 4 weeks. Typically just a 25 minute fast pace walk.

It might sound intense, but youre eating very healthy, clean foods.

Complex carbs, basmati rice, sweet potatoe, etc along with a LOT of green vegetables.

Im eating close to 1kg of brocolli a day at the moment

          PS. And heaps of water!

Is that the Atkins diet or is it something else?

Well, ultimately if you put a few hundred or a few thousand of these out there, and drive some cheap traffic to them, you are going to hit those people who are into their third glass of wine at 2:AM... That's how I bought Blast4Traffic a few years ago.

It is very wrong that people exploited this, but you also have to acknowledge the fact that people do get rich on this over night otherwise people wouldn't it.

With the real deal (i.e. the documentary) most viewers will say the guy looked his best half way through the programme. It's the same with the month-by-month pictures people sometimes post on facebook. Most of the comments will be people saying the guy in the photos looked best on month 3 then started to look more and more freaky as the months roll by. Very few guys can pull off the totally ripped look.

I think the key point was made in the documentary, by the doctor, "you're fighting against your body's natural urges". Start that fight and it's no surprise you'll end up looking unnatural.
