Wow - this might be a hoax because there is no real information.

Saw it on CNN earlier and they confirmed that she is dead at 48. Shocked me out of nowhere.. I had received an email for it and thought it was a publicity stunt til I went to Yahoo's home page and saw it too. Sad indeed.

Yep, they found her in a hotel room, unresponsive.
Tried to revive her...but she was gone.

Sad. Also sad that I can't say I'm surprised...it was probably drugs.

Very sad news she was definitely an American icon I will always remember the movie the bodyguard with her and Kevin Costner that was a classic.

Too bad it had to end so early. My condolences to her friends and family as well.

Sorry to hear the terrible news.

One of the all time greats has elevated to a higher level.

She was a highly awarded, phenomenal talent and her rendition of our national anthem at the Desert Storm Super Bowl (19901) was the absolute best of all time - live or recorded IMHO.

May she rest in peace.
