Beta Software for eBook Content Locking

I am part of a group (company) that is developing a new and innovative content locking software based on Adobe Acrobat X pdf file format for ebooks. The client software can run standalone (as a free pdf reader) or works as a plug-in for Acrobat X / Acrobat X Reader (we are not guaranteeing backwards compatibility with earlier versions atm).

This product will allow the publisher to content lock (none - some- all) the electronic document, and is able to manage each and every eBook through an embedded serial number that cannot be removed without destroying the document. Each publication is specifically keyyed with unique attributes to one or a group of hardware (usegroup).

What's unique is that the document content can be both static (offline) and dynamic (online) in nature. It can have a time to live stamp (great for loaners and rentals) and it will allow the publisher (you) the ability to leave parts of it open and readable by the public, and perhaps some more by reviewers without giving the publication away (the entire ebook) or have it ripped off or shared without your permission. Can you imagine the dramatic increase in revenue for your method or system or course, your intellectual property?!!!

The reader or plugin for Acrobat will be free for download. The publisher software requires you to have a USB port (ASIC dongle) and a FireFox plugin or an IE BHO and a small piece of code on every machine used for publishing. A Chrome version will be released slightly later... This software will be available via PC only ATM, Linux and Mac will be available when I have time to properly code / test / QA.

So, it means you as the publisher focuses on providing HQ content and we will provide the rest of what you need to succeed. You will use our company`s software, our USB dongle / ASIC SIM card, our web and application servers (for reader + plug-in downloads, client side shim downloads, server side encoding, content packaging, and an ecrypted, secure file repository) along with our company's ecommerce + seo service.

We are hoping to have this product ready for Beta Trials by the end of March to April time frame if there are no major defects found during testing and QA. Beta is not for commercial release but if you are accepted you will be at the front of the queue when we go live. When we go live, if you have a website we will arrange cross linking / Backtrack to your product landing page, if you don't we will provide you with a landing page in the store front.

I am looking at taking 10 members from Warrior Forum with a minimum of 50 HQ posts into the program. Post here and tell me why you are an ideal candidate for beta testing, and I will PM you the link to the Beta Program information, FAQ, Online Application, Beta Tester Agreement (sample) and the sign up page. We are limiting he number of participants for the program so the thread will be closed when we accepted our quota.

Please note that application does not guarantee acceptance.
