Congratulations Kurt.

Thought he would. They had him on a plane to wine and dine him pretty quick...

I love the Colts! First, they gave us Elway and now Peyton! Let's call them the Broncolts. (Sorry TL)

Hopefully in a few years they'll give us Luck too.

As a Bronco fan and a Manning fan, I'm thrilled...And I'm taking the day off from work and going to watch ESPN all day. LOL

That will immediately make the Broncos better, but what about Tebow now? Will they trade him? Keep him around to learn from Manning? (Don't mean to be negative, but there's no guarantee Manning can remain healthy after 4 neck surguries.) Hearing any rumblings about that, Kurt?

I have to be skeptical on this one. After 2 neck surgeries and at the age of 35, you have to wonder about his durability more than his ability to throw, despite taking all of that time off. Will his neck heal 100%? Will he be able to take shots and have no more neck problems, or will a couple of big hits jar his neck enough to force retirement?

I'm wondering what the actual signing bonus will be because I don't foresee him finishing 5 years to the tune of $90M. But I guess we'll see. I'd hate for the worst case scenario to happen and Manning have to retire with no clear backup because Orton is with Dallas and Tebow is with another team since they're going to trade him.

I'm not trying to bring you guys (Broncs fans) down, I'm just asking the questions that need to be asked. What do you guys all think about this in these terms?

And congrats Kurt. I didn't want the entire post to seem negative/realistic questions. Ha Ha

I believe at this point in time, Manning's neck has been declared healthy and he is no more likely to have a neck injury than any other player.

On a side note, the Broncos have retired #18, which was the Broncos original QB Frank Tripuka's dad's number. Tripuka is 84 and said it's OK to un-retire the number to give it to Peyton. BTW, Frank Tripuka is former NBA player Kelly Tripuka's dad.

I could have swore I posted in this thread before now?

Anyway, Kurt, heard any rumblings on what the Broncos will do with Tebow now? If not, are you making any guesses as to whether they'll have him learn from Manning as his understudy or trade him?

From what I'm hearing, they'll try to trade Tebow if they can get any value from a trade.

Personally, I think the best thing for Tebow would be to follow Manning around for a year and do everything Peyton does. Tebow's weaknesses are Manning's strengths.

I agree with you. Plus, there's no guarantee a guy with 4 neck surgeries in one year can make it through the season. It's not like he's played and taken a hit since then. Tebow would be pretty good insurance if Manning has more problems, I would think.

Latest I heard is the Jets might be interested in Tebow. There were earlier rumblings about New England.

Although not a doctor, I play one on the internet. As far as the neck, the fusion is healed and as strong as before with little chance of reinjury. The concern lies with nerve regeneration and arm strength.

Tebow cannot run a Manning offense. I wish the guy the best, had fun watching him this year, but he no longer fits with the Broncos, nor can he run a Manning style offense were Manning to go down.

It would be great to see Tebow succeed, on any team, but he has a long way to go. Alot of Tebow fans forget that he got the crap beat out of him in the New England game. To the point he may not have been able to play the next week if the Broncos won. He has a short shelf life in the NFL if he cannot develop his pocket passing and I do not think any team will give him the starting role until he shows he can make those developments.

Expect the Broncos to draft a QB in the second or third round.

Can't wait to see Dumervil and Miller under Jack Del Rio and playing against teams that are going to have to throw to keep up with the points Manning will put on the board.

          Oh yea ... GO BRONCOS!!!

It's done. Broncos send Tebow and a 7th round pick to the Jets in return for a 4th and 6th round pick. I wish Tebow the best, enjoyed watching him this season, but this should give the Tebowmaniacs some perspective on how Tebow was never a legitimate first rounder to begin with.

In other breaking news ... Saints head coach suspended for the ENTIRE season next year for bountygate. Belicheck is allowed to cheat and gets a slap on the wrist, yet Payton is suspended for a year. Hmmm ...

    Tebow in New York???

I had a feeling Elway didn't like Tebow's game and couldn't wait to get rid of him but he was the best thing they had.

I guess Tebow can come in when they want to run that wildcat stuff which I believe they do on occasion.

3rd and short (4 yards or less) is a good situation for Tebow and also goal situations.

I think I heard he's getting paid about 800K per year for now so it seems like a good bargain for the Jets.

    All The Best To Tebow.

TL I've got a question for you.
With Manning going to the Broncos and Orlovsky going to my Bucs, what is your team thinking?
Are then planning on getting an experienced QB in free agency or getting a rookie in the draft?

I hear my Colts are going to draft Andrew Luck from Stanford but don't be surprised if we pick the Highsmen trophy winner Robert Griffen The 3rd AKA RG3.

          I hope it works out.
I was checking out my new coaching staff and the 4 free agents we signed (Orlovsky, G Carl Nicks, WR Vincent Jackson, and CB Eric Wright), Earnest Byner is our new running backs coach. Looking into the histories of all the coaches, I think Dominic and Schiano put together a good staff , though I do wonder about Bryan Cox as Defensive Front Seven Coach.
He's the least experienced coach on the team.

Tebow to the Jets hit a hurdle over bonus money. Jags and Rams still alive.

And TL...I like both Luck and RG3, don't think you can go wrong with either. For those that don't know, Andrew Luck is the highest rated college QB prospect since Peyton Manning. And RG3 is Michael Vick with accuracy and a brain. I think they're both as "can't miss" as possible.
