As a member of this forum I want to share my bitter experience with you all my fellow members so that advice can be given to me on this issue.
It happened that my girl friend i loved so much left me for another guy.I know quite well i did nothing wrong to her to merit this.
What will i do?

I'm not Dear Abby and my heart isn't all messed up like yours most likely is right now, but here's some advice for the lovelorn:

One man to another: Take it for what it is and move on, move forward, forget all about her.

If she doesn't want to be with you, she's not worth keeping. Seriously.

Throw the pictures in the trash where they belong and stop looking at them (and for God's sake stop listening to lovesong radio!) And don't even think about calling her or mailing her anything!

Have some respect for yourself and do not become needy.

And when that other guy dumps her (which is inevitable) and she comes crawling back to you, slam the door in her face. A self-respecting man doesn't accept another guy's leftovers!

I assume you are young in age and your hormones are ruling your mind, but trust me, eventually your hormones will stop messing with you as much and you won't have this constant craving to have a girl love you.

Love isn't all it's cracked up to be.

Try to concentrate on making more money and before you know it you'll have women chasing after you instead of you chasing after them. Women are used to guys fauning over them, but when they find a guy who couldn't care less about them it gets their attention because he's so different from the rest of the men and they can't figure him out.

So forget about her, she's not worth your time. Concentrate on making more money. Money won't **ck with your heart the way a woman will.

The way I look at is, if she left you for another guy she didn't really like you and was just playing with your heart.

I've had this happen to me multiple times.

I'm totally shocked Phnx I thought you were the caring type.

Anyway, it will hurt for a while, but with time your heart will mend and you'll get over it and find another girlfriend. Most relationships don't even last these days so this might happen again.

Do something to keep your mind busy and off your ex, that works wonders.

Easy to do when it's just a normal relation, but harder to do since he pretty much was giving her his heart.

I don't think anyone is immune to broken hearts (except sociopaths who are uncapable of love) Hearts have been shredded, stomped on and broken into tiny fragments. I made my own posts here crying about my own broken heart, but we eventually get over it.

If you sit around and dwell on it, it makes it a million times worse. If you get out and keep busy and try to think of positive things instead of what happened, you'll recover a LOT faster and better.

Valerie - this is the user's first post. There is something very not kosher with posting this as a first post in an IM forum. I'm sure if this had been an actual posting member of the forum
her answer might have been a bit more compassionate.

LOL I didn't even notice this was his first post. That IS very strange for your very first post on an IM forum to be about getting dumped. I don't even know how long I was here before I even knew there was a basement.

        Here we ago again -

what was the guy's username(s) who was suspected of being a robot at one point and after months of trashy one paragraph posts about his tragic love life, finally began responding back to responses to his crap posts - and then disappeared?

I always forget his name(s) and you always remember for me.

Betcha 'a buck' (2 centavos) this post is by a troll who will not respond -

Now now Valerie, are you really gonna tell me you give a shit? Seriously? Liar liar pants on fire.

When you were upset, people were happy to respond because they knew you. This fella, as Sal has just pointed out, it's his first bloody post and all he does is bleat about his girlfriend dumping him which he is totally sure that he has done nothing to merit. I wonder what she'd have to say about that? Maybe he's right, and she's just gone off him, it happens. *shrug*

I might have been a bit more sympathetic if there was the usual self reflection, which people normally do "did I do something to upset her?", "did I treat her like shit", "could I have done things differently" ya know, so you can learn from your mistakes and make sure you don't repeat them. Or even just come to terms with the fact that she just preferred someone else. But noooo, he wanted us to see him as a victim, blame the girl (callous 'ho) and shower him with sympathy.

      IN HIS VERY FIRST POST!

Dunno about you, but where I'm from there are some things you just don't discuss with total strangers unless you are exceptionally emotionally needy and whiney. In that case, I think I understand why his girlfriend dumped him.

Hey kid, stop with the emo crap. We're more likely to empathise if we actually get to know you. It's too soon to share m'kay.

Try applying to Oprah, they lap this stuff up. Or open a LiveJournal blog and tell the world how your girlfriend done you wrong. Hey, write an ebook about it and sell it on MySpace!

And yes I'm being a mean old hag today.

      Bite me. :p

        That was completely unnecessary, Phnx.

Just because this is an off topic forum doesn't mean you can be a complete pain in the tooth. You do understand that your post was cold-hearted. Completely lacking any empathy. Imagine how you would feel after being dumped and having people respond in that kind of childish manner.

Bite you? Liar liar pants on fire? Please stop acting like a teenager, my dear.

Some people care about other members of the forum. Because we view this as being a supportive community. And there's no rule saying that a person can ask for help with their first post. For all you know this poor chap may be thinking about suicide and didn't know where to turn for help and support. (I've seen stranger things happen.)

No reason to stick a knife in his heart when it's already broken and bleeding. That's just cruel. If you want someone to have a little rant about then try me on for size. I promise you won't be disappointed. Please think about what you say next time, Phnx, because it's a shame to see such respected members being so childish and cold-hearted.

Oh pu-leeze! Get a grip here mate. Melodramatic much? It's his first post. Why on earth would anyone make their first post as a pitch for sympathy? I could understand if someone he loved had died, - hey even his pet - but geez his girlfriend dumped him. He'll have many more girlfriends dump him and I expect he'll be dumping a few himself. Most of us have been through it.

He's a stranger. No interaction with the forum, no introduction, just "here I am folks, give me your attention". You ain't doing him any favours you know. Jeez people want sympathy if they break a toenail these days.

Frankly it's not much different than those who make their first post "oh help me I am poverty struck and need some money". This is emotional begging, and it's just as impertinent. Look at the Scarlett O'Hara ending "what will I do". Well frankly my dear, I don't give a damn. Sue me.

As for my teasing Valerie. Well I know her - in an internety way -and I was gently pointing out that she was merely being polite, but it just encourages them. I can be silly about it if I want.

It's like putting out on the first date...there are some things you just don't do. Good manners ya know. Introduce yourself first before asking me to extend my sympathy to you.

Anyway I'm British. There's something to be said for the Stiff Upper Lip. :p

Everything happens for the best, Amgeneral. That's what I always say. Of course sometimes you have to be patient to realize that.

Remember it's normal (to an extent) to feel down for a bit. I'm sure you'll look at this break up much differently further down the line. Although it may be difficult keep that in mind and maybe it will help.

Don't be bitter about it. That's what weak men do. Just forget her and accept that some relationships aren't meant to be. It's nothing personal. People break up all the time. Remember there's another 3 Billion women on the plannet.

And take heart. Because I, ZigZag The Handsome And Daring, can't even get a date. Hahaha. I'm trying though. There's bound to be one woman stupid enough to put up with me. Right?

Sorry to hear about your broken heart.

From a woman's perspective, I don't suggest forgetting her and moving on. Ok, move on....but you don't have to forget her.

There was obviously something she got from this other person that she didn't get from you. Can you remember when your relationship started going bad? If you can, figure out what you'd do differently in a new relationship.

It wasn't meant to be, try to remember that during the tough times.

What is this, the Tyra show?!

Geez, let me see if I have this straight, eyerite, women dump men and hope the men will still remember them? Or is that just you?

Oh, I remember women who dumped me, especially for another guy...you'd be surprised how fast love can turn to vehement hate when someone you trust screws you over like that.

I have a feeling that's not exactly the kind of remembrance you had in mind.

Forget her, dude, and move on to better things! It's bad enough what she did to you, don't let her frigging memory continue to twist the knife in your back.

    It's her loss, not yours.

Seems to me it's a bit silly to be commiserating with someone you don't know - and standing up for this person hours after they posted ONE short "my heart is broke" post.

Not doing anything wrong doesn't transpose to being right for another person - most adults have that figured out.

Maybe they are a troll. But maybe they're not. You can't be certain. And I always think it's good to give people the benefit of the doubt. I've been reading this forum for some time and the Internet paranoia is amusing.

Why do I have the urge to stand in the 'naughty corner'. No cookies for me today!

            *sigh*

Take a look again at that post. He does not ASK for sympathy and advice. He DEMANDS it. No please, thank you, kiss my arse or anything. Just a demand. Forgive me for not hopping to attention and behaving with fake politeness.

For all you know I could have had a really bad day, suffered some terrible tragedy of my own, but you have the sheer brass neck to also DEMAND that I respond in a fashion you deem fitting. Who are you to demand that?

You chose to act like the Drama Queen and shreik how cold hearted I was, not like you of course who is so caring and compassionate. *reaches for the barf bag* What was that you were saying about attention grabbing, hmm?

Seems to me if you have to proclaim loudly how caring you are, you really aren't, and it's more about ego-stroking. Perhaps removing your head from your anus might convince you there is more to being caring than sucking up to some unknown poster when he demands sympathy. I know these days we are told to go out of our way to try and spare peoples delicate little feelings, and many are presumptious enough to take offence on anothers behalf as if they are not capable of doing it themselves. But really, you aren't helping him - if he really is genuine - and you are being impertinent and dictatorial to others who don't share your viewpoint.

            >>But don't expect any from me because I stand by everything I said. You were being cold-hearted. And the worse part is that you seem to enjoy it.<<

What....what??? My my, you are mightily full of yourself aren't you! Why would I want any attention from you? You're the one doing the demanding and throwing a hissy fit, forcing yourself before my attention like an anoying little gnat. I'd be mighty pleased if you kept your promise and refused me your attention. May I remind you that YOU initiated this conversation. Or rather, lecture.

As you seem to become agitated when anyone doesn't display a warm enough heart for your liking, I shall be sure to positively GUSH with the milk of human kindness should we cross paths again. Can't be fairer than that can I?

As for "enjoying it", I had no strong emotion either way. It was just a response. Sorry to disappoint.

Cheer up though! I am genuinely enjoying myself NOW *beams*

            >>The funny thing is Kay that you and Phnx have done more troll-like behaviour than the original poster. Quite ironic if you think about it.
Supposing they're genuine. (And they could be.) They haven't said a bad word against anyone. They haven't done anything wrong. <<

You need to look up the definition of a troll. Kay never even said anything mean and she gets it in the neck, for not being caring enough.

The poster hasn't said a word - good or bad - period, since the initial post. Where is the wee laddie? Has he hurried back to thank you for your sterling advice? Has he thanked Valerie? Taken me to task for being mean and hurting his feelings? *wibble wibble* (BTW if you think a few harsh words and lack of sympathy equate to "shredding" I have to wonder what planet you live on.)

            >>Personally I'm more the happy-go-lucky type and I don't need to police the forum or get attention to make myself feel good.<<

But...but... *whispers*... that's precisely what you have just done. Go you!

            >>I choose to help people because that's what I'm passionate about.<<

Well done! Be careful the halo doesn't slip.

You may be the new Mother Theresa but that still don't give you the right to tell others how they should feel or respond.

            >>Could I be wrong in this instance? Yes. Sometimes I'm wrong. But most of the time I'm right and that's good enough for me. <<

Ah, the certainty that right is on your side! Just like the original poster.

            Are you related perchance? :p

Now you listen to me. It's obvious to both myself and everyone reading that you're something of an attention whore. Not only that but you were downright cold-hearted and rude to the original poster.

Furthermore you enjoyed being a right pain in tooth. That's bang out of order and something that I simply will not accept regardless of whether the original poster is genuine or not. Because for all you know he may very will be.

You're sarcastic because you like attention. That's the only reason. You probably have something lacking because no sane person would go on for this long with such an argumentative attitude.

Notice my post count? Notice how long I've been here? I'd hang out in the Main Forum racking up my post count and 'reputation' if I was remotely concerned about attention. And no I don't mean that those with high post counts are seeking attention, merely that it wouldn't be logical for an attention whore to hang out in the bowels of the forum.

Furthermore you enjoyed being a right pain in tooth. That's bang out of order and something that I simply will not accept regardless of whether the original poster is genuine or not. Because for all you know he may very will be.
Again, presuming to know how I feel. You do realise, you are likely defending an automatic posting BOT?

Well mister, I won't accept some self righteous little squit telling me how I must feel, and respond to some unknown entity.

You're sarcastic because you like attemtion. That's the only reason. You probably have something lacking because no sane person would go on for this long with such an argumentative attitude.
Okaaay. Let's see...I make one post consisting of a single sentence. I then respond to a comment Valerie makes. YOU jump in at this point telling us all how saintly you are and how mean I am. I respond. You respond back. And so on. You began the argument by denying me my right to explain my opinion to Valerie.

What you basically mean is someone who continues to argue your rightness is quite obviously insane. You being so saintly and all. So when you continued to argue back, wouldn't that make you also insane by your own logic?

I'm not interested in going back and forth with you. Because like most people I'm here to contribute to the forum and have fun.
This is the Bar and we are more laidback here. We get to express our opinions even to the extent of showing no sympathy for those who just demand it.

I don't consider it "fun" being virtually ordered to feel sympathy just because you say so.

                    As I said before...bite me!

Then stop acting like an attention whore.

It's very simple. Your previous posts were all about attention. You didn't care about the original poster. (Bot or Troll or not.) You didn't care about informing people. All you care about is getting attention from your friends and that's something you've excelled at.

                      Well done.

Again, presuming to know how I feel. You do realise, you are likely defending an automatic posting BOT?
That's a possibility. But that's not the point.

No. Again you're missing the point. You didn't just respond. You were cold-hearted, sarcastic, and self-religious. That's the point. Looking at that example it's probably that you're like that to real people as well.

And on and on it goes ...

Of course I didn't care about the poster.

Why do you equate lack of sympathy as attention whoring? I'd bet everything I have that the vast majority who read this thread truly don't care. Why should they? They have worries of their own and they don't even know if it's a real poster. Who is this poster that demands our sympathy? Do you know? And yet you think you have the right to expect we should all offer our sympathy. Is yours squandered so cheaply?

That's a possibility. But that's not the point.
It's exactly the point! You were willing to expend your energy giving inane advice to 'someone' you have no idea if it's a real person or not. That makes your advice valueless. For what will you do when helping a real person you know needs help? Will you offer the same reflex automatic shite that doesn't come from the heart but is something dished out by rote.

Why would anyone therefore take your advice when it's meaningless.

No. Again you're missing the point. You didn't just respond. You were cold-hearted, sarcastic, and self-religious. That's the point. Looking at that example it's probably that you're like that to real people as well.

And on and on it goes ...
I can bloody well be cold hearted if I want. That is my right! Whether I'm like that to 'real people' (and is that a tacit admission that you've realised your tantrum is likely in defence of a bot?) is non of your damn business.

Personally, I'd rather take honest opinion no matter how unpalatable, than the insincere platitudes offered by your ilk. You wondered how I'd feel if someone responded to me like that when my heart was "broken and bleeding"? Never happen, because like most normal people who don't belong to the emo generation we don't spill our guts to complete strangers.

If the OP was real and didn't want people being unsympathetic then he shouldn't have posted in the first place. Or maybe if he'd asked nicely he would have got some sympathy.

You are flogging a dead horse here, so let it go. Sympathize all you want, but we who don't give a shit retain that right.

If that's alright with you.

Ah forget it! Big of you to admit that.

If it's any consolation I didn't suspect a bot at first I just thought it was some rude young teenager demanding attention. Low tolerance for them, I'm afraid.

People are being tossed out of their homes left right and centre and are terrified for the future, I really can't extend much sympathy for someone who has been dumped by his girlfriend. It's a natural part of life and it sucks. He'll forget her in a few months and life will move on, and he'll wonder what he ever saw in her. Giving him the benefit of course, that he wasn't a pig to her.

It's probably a bot though. Someone that desperate to spill his guts in his first post would have been haunting this thread and feeding off the sympathy if genuine.

I don't get the purpose of these bots though. I mean, no link or anything, what is the point? Unless it really is just for trolling.

I notice many replies just respond to the first post and don't actually read the whole thread so I suppose this thread could carry on for quite a while as people chip in.

Caring is good, but discernment is becoming necessary unfortunately.

That's something I've always wondered about - and not just with bots. When I see instances where property is defaced or vandalized I feel the same way - why? What makes someone waste time in their life doing such useless things? It's something I'll never understand.

What a load of turnip crap! Do I care if someone who posted here on a public forum (with no name and no prior participation and no explanation) got his heart bruised? Wait, let me think....no.

I don't get all empathetic because someone says I should feel that way. I have no sympathy for anyone who would air private relationship problems to total strangers. And I really don't like drama queens and poor me types.

I'm quick to sympathize when an animal is hurt or abused, when a child needs cheering up, when friends/neighbors need help. I prefer to take action that accomplishes something rather than sit around chatting about how people "feel".

Who are you arguing with? Is there a prize for most empathetic? Who qualified you to decide what opinions or feelings others are allowed to have or express? You feel sorry for this unknown person - fine. You are free to sympathize. Maybe the OP will come back some day and thank you for it. Maybe not.

The funny thing is Kay that you and Phnx have done more troll-like behaviour than the original poster. Quite ironic if you think about it.
Supposing they're genuine. (And they could be.) They haven't said a bad word against anyone. They haven't done anything wrong.

Yet here you are insinuating that I haven't learned something other adults have (boo hoo) and Phnx ripping the original poster to shreds. What's the point of that? Personally I'm more the happy-go-lucky type and I don't need to police the forum or get attention to make myself feel good. I choose to help people because that's what I'm passionate about.

Could I be wrong in this instance? Yes. Sometimes I'm wrong. But most of the time I'm right and that's good enough for me.

If that the situation you need to move on and forget about her!

You don't deserved a woman like her if you think that you did everything to make the relationship work out. If you think that you gave your whole heart, trust and love to your girl but she still left you with another man then the problem was her.

    Keep on moving man!

Valerie, lassie, he is going to feel a bit of a prat soon enough. I can wait.

Still, we mustn't be judgemental. We've all felt a bit of a tit at times.

      I forgive him.

Wow! This compassion thing is catching!

This one is easy, "GO FIND ANOTHER GIRL" lol!

Kidding aside, maybe you need to pause for a while and think of a possible reason why she left you for someone else. Maybe you were too busy with your IM thing and you are always online and doesn't have enough time to cherish him at all.

I'm a woman, I know how it feels to be frustrated if you are committed with someone who never finds to spend quality time with you because of work...work and work.

Remember, we only get to live once, make sure you maximize. It's never too late to apologize and do something to have her back. If not, it's never too early for you to go search for a new girl to love and to cherish in between IM.....

    Cheers!

Sorry to hear it. She wasnt meant for you. It just makes room for the right person, or someday she may return as a more mature ( and sorry) person. Keep working and get rid of everything she ever gave you.

Very clever. Well done. I stand behind everything I said. This thread should have been about helping the original poster. Instead collectively you've turned it into an argument. Congratulations. This could have been avoided easily if people weren't so stuffed with their own opinions.

All you have to do is have an open heart and be kind to people. Otherwise, you'll be put in your place.

Yet you are the one having the problem with other peoples opinions because they are different from yours. Looks like you got stuffed.

ZigZag, I commend you for your good intentions. However, I am with Phnx, Kay and others on this one.

I have been involved in a quite a few forums and this post does look very suspicious. I used to get tons of posts of like everyday.

The fact that the poster hasn't responded in almost 2 days makes it much more so.

If you look at the other threads he has started, they were all short posts and he never comes back to respond. In fact, he never responds to any threads at all on this forum. This is highly indicative of bot activity.

"I am a Man Utd fan so where are all the Man Utd fans in this forum
Let them all identify themselves inorder to enhance mutual understanding. "

"I was browsing online one day and i discovered a software that sends traffic to a website without you having to spend any cent and the name of the software is search engine loophole and i want to know if it is legal."

That is why I didn't repond to the post in the first place. Perhaps this is what the others should have done.

So at the moment, it is really you against the rest. Unless there is more evidence to the contrarory, I don't think it is worth you while to stick your neck out and potentially upset other members.

If the poster comes back and responds, then perhaps we owe him apology, but somehow I doubt he will come back.

Wow Derek, I never noticed the tie in with those other threads. Well spotted!

Heh I nearly responded to the Man U one until I saw it seemed a bit odd, so I decided not to bother.

Think the odds are saying it's definitely a bot now.

ZigZag, if you're so caring and kind to people then will you send me money? I need my speeding ticket and car insurance paid. Or my heart will be broken.

I'm not so kind and caring. Just a normal person. I have a personal policy to only help people who didn't bring it on themselves. So stop speeding. :p

My advise is DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME.

It's the psychology of women. By nature, women can be more faithful to her partner. It's not so easy for us to stray as compared to men. But, once a woman changes her heart for another man, it's game over. It'll double harder for you to win her back.

What is getting odd as well are those short responses by members with a few posts. They do look real, I wonder whether they are trying to build up their post counts?

Do they realize that posts here do not add up to the overall post counts?
