Need Open Office Spreadsheet Help Please

I'm setting up a spreadsheet listing usernames and passwords.

In the username column, 99% of the usernames are all lowercase letters.
However, OO wants to make the first letter a capital. I keep telling it not to. But it won't listen to me. Stubborn! And it's not doing this to any other column. I just started this project a moment ago and did no special formatting to the spreadsheet before starting.

So, how do I get it to stop? This list is not for me only, this is for a client.

No joy. It allowed me to fix the first one, but after that it still replaces my lowercase letter with a capital one.

      Where's my whip ????

Barbara, double check your settings - I've had OoO 'forget' between changing the settings. At least in 2.1

but turning the setting off should work.

    good luck.
