In the 50's and 60's people protested that "Rock 'N' Roll" was the work of The Devil. They were close. It just took a couple more decades for that crap to manifest.

I think of him as more of a “Damien.” ;-)

In truth though, I'd rather listen to JB than some of the other crap that's out there. At least he's not wearing a gimp mask and talking about drinking piss etc. (Yuck.)

I can't say that I hate a particular genre but Bieber bugs me. So does Nicki Minaj she sounds like Falco.

      Opera and Disco.
Though I have heard some disco songs I liked, depends on the percussion in them.
Opera I would like if they would shut up and just let the orchestra play

        Disco?
Surely it's called “dance music” these days.

Pretty much the same for me Thom, though I am also not a fan of what they call country nowadays.
I do like real good old days country.

When I think of disco I think of K.C. and the Sunshine band and those YMCA dudes. Songs like that.

I don't listen to the new country myself.
About the closest I get to it is Hank III and Shooter Jennings.

I hate pretentious ass indie rock. Most of the bands I listen to are small and indipendent, I am talking about all your commercial english indie rock bands that sound like ****ing Oasis.

I do have some indie band 45s from the late 70s,but they are from local Wash DC punk bands. Bands like The Insect Surfers. The Penetrators. (who wanted me to manage them at one time). And a few more I can't remember right now.

I can promise they are NOTHING like Oasis.

One note of someone singing opera is like fingernails on the blackboard - just drives me up the wall. I agree with Thom - shut up and let us hear the MUSIC - the INSTRUMENTS.

I am pretty much like that about most music - I don't like the voice in front - I like the instrumentation -

I don't care for country because it reminds me of bad days in bars - same with disco.

I know I am getting to be an old fogey and I am hung up on the 'original rock and roll' of the 1950s and 1960s and the punk rock of the 1970's and 1980s.

... but so help me the 'music' that they have coming out today is just trite - that's all I can say. It is a sacrilege. "Art imitates life' - going down the tubes with the music just as bad as world affairs.

heheheheh people will write this off as about me being 'old'.

I seem to have an allergic reaction to top 30 music on the radio. I especially have a hard time withstanding extended show-offy singing solos with trite lyrics.

Hate is too strong of a word but...

I'm not really interested in hearing...

    - Punk Rock:

Sounds like a bunch of clanging and scratching without any direction and the singing sucks.

Maybe I wasn't stoned/drunk enough to get it.

    - Polka

Had a chance to hear in while in Milwaukee.

    Not gana do it again.

    - Opera

    Not gana do it again.

Other than the above I can listen to the best of almost any genre of music.

I don't want to hear songs that made the ongoing top 40 for a genre or the dozens/100's of songs that a big fan of a genre is familiar with - only the best of a genre.

    All The Best!!

BLAH (my father actually liked an oldie artist who sang this stuff and I would plug my ears with headset playing metal to cover that ) - nowaday's candy lollipop music : Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj, and the like. BLAH - electronic junkie music - Cannibal Corpse
