Never read newspapers, too much crap ads, and I don't own a parakeet.
Might come in handy should there be a TP shortage.

I don't usually read newspapers because I don't see any point reading about bad news. Sometimes I'll pick one up and flip through it to something positive and productive. I live in England and am about 30 miles from the Roman city of Bath. Great place if you ever think of visiting.

Gotcha? Um....not unless you answer this post. At the present moment I believe you to be a bot.

    Besides:

I live in a cave and we don't read newspapers out here - we weave them into these dandy little mats and sit on them while we are cooking or knapping.

I live in a concrete jungle where I occupy 1 appartment in a building with 48 floors and 8 appartments on each floor (Total = 384). Overall, there are 6 blocks in our development. Therefore the total no. of appartments = 2304. So basically, we can have self-contained city here.

This is actually below average as far as developments in Hong Kong are concerned. Some developments have 30-40 blocks although they do not have as many units per block.

I usually get the news from CNN and BBC. As far as local papers are concerned, I read the Hong Kong standard. As for the scurilous tabloid stuff, I get my wife to translate articles for me from the many thrashy publications we have over here.

Great town - I used to live in Sindelfingen and used to go into Stuttgart pretty often. Then I moved to Wart, which was only a handful of people down the road from Nagold and started hanging out in Baden-Baden instead. Bet the place has changed a lot. I'd be very sad to see that area become heavily populated.

Just thinking of doing offline marketing in newspapers, I found a website that list all newspapers in the USA but because I have not lived in every city in the USA I figured I would ask people what newspapers they read so I can try to target good areas and newspapers in the USA.

I dont know why a very small amount of people on these forums act like it is such a personal question I am not asking for your address just what city and newspaper.

To all others who were truly helpful, you know who you are. Thank you for responding to my post.

I advertise mostly in Pennysaver, small weeklies, and college newspapers throughout the US in the business opportunity and sales (sales reps wanted) sections. The larger metro newspapers don't seem to pull very well for me in my targeted market (opportunity seekers).

You should have your ad run for several weeks for best results. There is a large and growing untapped market of business opportunity seekers offline, as I assume you are recruiting.

I live in Seattle and I don't read the newspaper...I also don't have a tv, (get all of my tv/movie needs through hulu)

If I was looking for something, I'd go to craigslist...not a newspaper.

It's where I found my "job", my apartment, my furniture, and pretty much everything but the boy!

I can't imagine that many IMers would read papers, they're all really well-versed on the web. It kind of depends on your target market...are they people who read papers? If so, and your product is internet-based, they may not be i-savvy enough to know they want it.

Your better option may be to find where your target market hangs out online, and then ask them what papers they read. But, if you find where they hang out online, you might as well just have ads on the websites they visit...

Looks like a fairly international bunch, with quite a few living in caves.

I'm on the coast about 50 miles north of Sydney. The house backs onto a national park, so the area is semi-suburban, with lots of trees and a forest at the back gate. It's walking distance to a harbor/bay and a short drive to the beaches. Most of the people who move here like the space and natural conditions. It's also a lot quieter and less crowded than in the city.

I don't bother reading newspapers now as I've set up a Google News site as my home page and it keeps me abreast of current events every time I open my browser.
