The longer pages are not there long enough to read - one in particular I only read the first sentence and it moved

... and you could break the long ones up with paragraphs (or break it into pages) to make it easier to read....

In my opinion it could use some pizazz - colored background and or text might not look so stark as black and white.

    ... well you asked!

LOL, well tell him thanks for that KJ!

I am actually using ConvertR which Michael Sylvester has as a WSO to make it.

That is my 2nd attempt at making a video, I know, I'm late to the game,as always.

Any suggestions for a real video making program that isn't too expensive?

      Kim,

This style of video can easily be made using Windows Movie Maker.

Break the shots up into sentences and make the text fill the screen. Center the text and be sure to proofread it. Twice.

      Now...

If you have Audacity and a microphone record your voice reading the text. Audacity is a free program a lot of us use for audio.

If you don't want to use a voiceover your conversions will plummet. But even if you don't use the recorded voice over it can be used to time your screenshots.

You need the screenshots to coincide with a voiceover even if you're only playing music.

All white is standard for these types of videos, but color can also work well.

Welcome to the wonderful world of web videos...

      Windows Movie Maker is free.

I'm not sure if Open Office's presentation software exports in a format that Windows Movie Maker can import, but I'd check it out and see if it's possible?

When he did the name change I told him He'd always be KJ to me
(Course I'm getting old so once in a while I slip up and say "Bill")

          LOL Kim!

When I address him, I have to think extra hard to type Bill and not KJ.

As a matter of fact, a couple of times, I've had to go back and overwrite KJ with Bill in my post.

In my mind he is still KJ to me too.

    Bill and Kurt,
Thanks. I keep getting the same comments as far as breaking it up more and doing the voiceover.
All these years using and making windows machines I don't think I have ever used Windows Movie Maker. I think I do have audacity though. It came with my USB turntable that I got to convert my vinyl into cds. ( Its still in the box unopened).

Windows Movie Maker is a decent program. The only reason I suggest OO's presentation software is to maybe add some pictures to the slides.

A few pictures from www.Morguefile.com would really spice things up and Morgue file's license allows this without having to give credit.

Kim, you can go directly to Microsoft's website and download the version for your OS. XP uses a different version than Win7, as an example.

      Cool!

WMM only produces files in a .wmv format but you can upload them to YT or easily convert it to mpg4 if you're hosting it on your own site.
