Leadership books with unconventional advice

Hello,

I have recently read a book called "Rework" by Jason Fried and David Heinemeier Hansson. I really enjoyed the part about the culture, some of the take-outs -

"People need diversions. It helps disrupt the monotony of the
workday."

"What is it with businesspeople trying to sound big? The stiff language, the formal announcements, the artificial friendliness, the legalese, etc."

"When you treat people like children, you get children's work."

Could anyone please suggest me any books on leadership with unconventional advice? Empowering people, not being a faceless manager without feelings, making people excited... etc.

The best leadership books, inho, are the Carnegie series. I'm not sure how unconventional they are considered to be -- the way management behaves these days, though, I'm sure not too many have either read, nor understood, this series. They should be read by anyone in authority of people.

    Carnegie is awesome.

Also read emyth. Then your business will depend on systems, and not as much motivating people. Although I love that part personally. Want unconventional? Dont hire the most talented people, instead create systems that average people can carry out with ease and with little thought. This way you are never at the WHIMS of a person, because your business is run on systems not people necessarily or any particular ones anyway.

Working with systems doesn't disinherit a business owner from possessing leadership qualities, though. Leadership skills are vital for a business owner when dealing with any faction - media, customer, and gov. It doesn't matter - you have to be someone that catches the people's imaginations to pull business ownership off at all with any grace.
