I just had Chicken souvlaki that included rosemary in its spices. I don't get the rosemary. To me, it tastes like turpentine.

Everyone's taste buds are different. If it tasted like turpentine to everyone then no one would use it, but it doesn't. Rosemary is a very popular seasoning for potatoes and other veggies.

Personally, I can't stand the taste of artificial sweetener. Tastes like fingernail polish. My wife loves the stuff though. She only buys diet soda for herself, and she buys artificial sweetener for her coffee.

Of course, maybe somebody spiked your food with turpentine. Been making any enemies lately?

I'm with you on that. What's more, if I ingest it, it turns my skin into the color of fingernail polish.

You're supposed to inhale it, not drink it ...

I'm partial to nail polish cleaner with a dash of vermouth (or absinthe if on the rocks).

      BTF!

You know me, I've always been around. Still doing the same stuff but it takes more work these days than it did five years ago LOL.

          I'll PM you.

I'm not big on rosemary spice myself. I have used a little in poaching water for cooking fish, but just a little. It's gets strained out when I add butter, pepper and lemon, then thicken what's left as a little sauce to top the poached fish.

Maybe if it was a powdered spice it would be a bit better. Very little of it goes a long way for me. There are a lot of spices we could do without, but surely they would be someone else's favorites.

I've known people to cook prime rib in a bed of rosemary. There are some things I don't mind a little rosemary in -- but NOT on prime rib. I can't imagine prime rib needing ANYTHING on it.
