What is wrong with the Forum platform?

After catching up with several boards and making a couple of posts to the forum I decided to write a blog post.

I spent a few minutes writing my post but in that few minutes, once again, I discovered that I had been logged out or timed out.

Is it not possible for us to be warned that we are wasting our time composing posts because there is an arbitrary and random process by which we are timed or logged out?

Even though I could not post to my blog, I was still logged in according to the information at the page head. Naturally, the post was lost.

I don't have this problem with other forums and, yes, I did tick 'remember me' when I logged in so why is this platform so unstable?

This platform is not unstable, its one of the best BBS platforms, and most stable out there.
You are probably closer to the solution when you say timed out.

If you can't suss it out, Art - write your blog on wordpad then just cut and paste, do your edits and you are done - fast. If it doesn't take, you don't lose your work.

Sal is right.I actually do that when I see a post is getting too long and I'm afraid I might lose it.

I suppose I made a huge mistake by changing the page I was on. I don't get logged out or timed out when viewing the forums (believe me, with my sight problems I can be logged in for two hours or more). Even so, I was only on my blog page for about ten minutes which seems a very short duration for a time out.

You might not like what I say - but I believe it.

Some old school smarts would help - and here's to Rob Toth for his help. Bloody good stuff, even the freebies!
