You don't need the IQ of a rocket scientist to realize every internet marketing venture we pursue from this day forward WILL be taken away from ALL of us if we fail to take a stand, one way or the other.

Look at our internet freedoms 5 years ago, and look at them now. What will they be like 5 years from now? Doesn't matter if you live in Belize or Boston, does it.

There is NO point to censor a message such as this ANYWHERE in this forum, for if there is no action from the message in this movie, it eventually means the forum policy itself would be stripped of it's foundation, and cease to exist.

And if "the super mods" delete THIS thread, delete my account here at the Warrior Forum as well. PLEASE! I'll be happy you did, because I stand with the other ballsy Marketing Warriors, and lovers of the United States who continue to serve this country, believe in this site, and want ALL of the tyranny gone. ALL OF IT!

May we NEVER quit, and NEVER give up!

What's your point? What do you hope to accomplish? A string of rants about govt that flows into politics and causes problems? A list of conspiracies we all "need" to know about?

The film clip is good - Eisenhower, Kennedy, teamster's protest, Vietnam protestors....selected comments about "threats of things to come" made over two generations.

    And we're still here.

I missed the part about the internet. I'm not saying your points are invalid, but it seems like you tried to hide a political message by attaching "internet freedom" in there.

Actually Joe, there are a lot of us, and I think the OP is one of them, that want it to be the opposite.
Our government has made it an Govt vs them and a us vs govt.
I am for taking America back, and letting the other countries deal with thei own problems. We aren't their keepers.Lets get the hell out of them.

But if they decide to try to attack us, or kill innocent Americans, then we need to strike fast and hard. They have gotten away with it for so long without any consequences and our current government is having the same standard of operations, meaning doing nothing, they have no incentive to act civilized.

The Carter administration changed the way our country was perceived, from a strong leader to a weak child.

      Now look where we are.

I didn't comment on wars, the government, anything like that. (and I'm not going to). What I said was that the video didn't have anything to do with the text that followed it, talking about internet freedom. That seems in my eyes at least a deliberate (although not very effective) attempt to get a political point across in a non-political section by dressing it up.

That, along with the actual black and white situation I referred to (leave it up or ban me mods!) was enough for me to comment on. If people want to get the rally going in here then go for it. I was just making an observation.

Ah, I ignored the internet freedom part, I see very little difference from even 10/15 years ago to now. If anything I feel I have more freedom in that area....but it may be that I am just oblivious.

My point I was trying to get across is that it really isn't "US (United States) vs Them(rest of the world) but currently there are a large portion of Americans that want to change that very notion that the citizens of the Unites States support everything the government is doing to the rest of the world. That's all.

I'm not trying to get a rally going here. I'd rather be eating a nice piece of chocolate cream pie.

Alright, fine. I'll comment on the subject material lol. I agree with you, there is a definite mindset like the one you describe (that Americans want US v. Them) that still persists around the world despite the advances Obama made to our image (I think it's one of the very few things that he ended up delivering on to a satisfactory level).

Muslims are doing the same thing. I remember seeing a link on Reddit as this video's stuff started going down (I'll try to see if it hasn't been buried) that was flooded with links to other videos/blog posts/articles from Muslims who were essentially saying "don't let these psychos be the way you see us. We disagree with the things that they do just as much as you do.

So essentially, we have the vast majority of the two "sides" of this saying "let's get along, you guys don't seem like total dickweeds", and that is drowned out by incompetent officials and one dickweed that figured out how to make things go kaboom.

      What a world lol.

TECHNICALLY, the average US internet marketer is breaking US and European law EVERY DAY! They complain about Amazon and Clickbank, when all THEY are trying to do is COMPLY with the law. These are laws that didn't exist 10 years ago! And FORUMS? Probably over 60% are breaking a little law, called COPPA, for starters! IT supposedly became law in 2000.

America is weak in the eyes of the world, it's not about striking hard and fast it's about getting your respect back and pride that fell from you after the 20th century passed.

But don't worry too much, when China attacks Japan next week all eyes will turn to the inhumanities of the East.

    Former False and latter True

"that fell from you after the 20th century passed."

      Wow, man.

This isn't the Warrior forum I remember.

I remember coming here talking about problems that we all had, considering different possiblities and working to find a solution.

Didn't matter what the freakin topic was..

Threads meant to openly discuss serious topics in a mastermind kind of way for one purpose, and one purpose only.. to be mature enough to see the problem, and working together to make a thing better by improving and taking action on an idea.

Instead, some guy returns here with that same purpose, and you seem to have nothing to offer but a bunch of bullshit excuses like "what's the point?".

Why don't we all adopt the same bad attitude and let these pricks in the UN walk all over us, right Kay? Let's just bitch about it, and do absolutly NOTHING about it to make a change..

No wait.. we can attact the guy with the idea! Yeahh!

Meanwhile, they are making plans to take our private property away, take away our right to a free internet and free market so we can make income and/or feed our families from all the hard work we've done. Lets' all just lay down on our backs and let them do what they want.

What's the point, right? Hey! While we're at it, lets talk about our other brothers & sisters in the forum above -so we can feel smarter about ourselves. Yeah!

What, you think the right thing to do is make fun of the people in the main discussion area because you think you're better than they are? Really? They're your brothers and sisters. What are you doing?

You actually think that's a nice thing to do? Lol. You think that's a good leadership trait?

WTF happened to this forum, anyway?

Not one of you has the courage, integrity, and drive to inspire me to get motivated enough to take positive action on a cause that's worthwile. Not one of you.

You guys aren't real Warriors. You think you are, but you're not. You don't sound like you want to help anyone but yourselves. I suppose the REAL Warriors don't come here anymore. And I'm starting to see why.

Is that why I've been seeing all these Warrior Forum hate websites popping up saying the Warrior forum sucks and bashing the members here? I don't want to believe it.

What are YOU doing about it? What are you doing about what that video up there is talking about? Didn't make a dent, did it?

Why don't you stop bitching, get up off your ass and do SOMETHING!

Here's another suggestion: why not let this message sink in, and decide if your current attitudes are part of the problem, or part of the solution? Would you follow you?

And maybe.. JUST MAYBE this is the kick in the pants you need.

I'll die spreading the word, and defending this country. What are you doing?

      Think about it.

What I dislike are rallying cries where an injustice or conspiracy is perceived by a few people who expect others to jump into the fray. I don't do frays...or petitions...and I have no illusion that I can affect how the world uses or abuses the internet.

WTF happened to this forum, anyway?
We have never really allowed political discussions here, but "WTF" happened is that it got so that it's not possible to have the intelligent and mature conversation you want without people starting to bash everyone who disagrees with them, or just sees things from a different perspective. Some of the comments were so vicious that closing this section entirely was seriously considered.

It got so bad 4 years ago that Allen finally put it in writing: No political discussions here.

In one sense, you're right. This isn't the Warrior Forum you first joined. That forum was composed of a lot more "early adopters." People didn't expect to be spoon-fed every little thing. They expected to have to work and learn to earn.

Definitely not the same forum. Not worse, but different. The market is more mature, but it's still in the shakeout phase. The "endless parade" ensures that will always be the case to some degree.

In the mean time, we do what we can. But the political stuff is out. Regardless of what perspective it advocates. It's just not possible to have those discussions here without the viciousness. And that doesn't help anyone.

                Paul,

Thanks for that. I searched the rules of the main forum, and compared them to this forums rules to get an idea of the politics definition HERE..

Even searched your threads to get some idea as to what kinds of topics would be acceptable before attempting to ask serious questions in the threads.. close, but didn't really find anything solid.

The intentions I had were to get some idea where people were.. knowledge wise, and action-wise. I know people are really sharp here, or I wouldn't have bothered.

I can see now that's besides the point, and not the best place to ask those kinds of questions.

But then Joseph* and Ernie* aren't happy with the world, so they rise and overthrow.

One of the few times I've disagreed with you Paul.

This IS the forum he joined.

Kay,Kim,Kurt, all have been here a lot longer than he has.
(I rarely refer to myself in 3rd person, but the fact that all 3 of us 'old timers' start with a "K" just opens the door to all sorts of conspiracy theories.
All are capable and do have the exact type of discussions that you mention: intelligent and mature. As are almost all the posters in this thread.

And his post above shows me he has no interest at all in an intelligent discussion.
As a matter of fact his post above is very close to the type you yourself describe as the ones that made it "not possible to have the intelligent and mature conversation you want without people starting to bash everyone".

His post was the complete opposite actually.
    I'm stating a fact only.

      Kim,
This IS the forum he joined.
It's definitely not the same forum I joined. Same name, and a lot of the same people after all these years, but the culture, the available options, the tone... Pretty much all changed.

Back when you and I first joined, there might have been a few thousand members, tops. (Possibly only a few hundred.) Most of us were capable of having a heated debate on a topic in one thread, and joking with each other in the next one down the page.

      Fragile egos didn't last here.

And when we joined, this place was still a spammer's heaven. People traded email lists, sold spamware through their sigs, and discussed sending bulk email as though it were the most natural thing in the world. That's why Allen asked for someone to help with the moderating - so we could get rid of them.

How is this the same place?
And his post above shows me he has no interest at all in an intelligent discussion.
It certainly reads like the sort of nasty that lead to the "No politics" rule. But Grant doesn't have the long history of that stuff that some folks do, so I give him the same benefit of the doubt I gave everyone else here when I first started hanging in OT. What he chooses to do with that is up to him.

Just don't mistake passion for blindness. Grant's a smart guy.

    My points exactly!

The forum you,I and Kay and Kurt joined, was a lot different than it was in 2006 when Grant joined. Just as it is different now than when he joined in 2006.

Like you said, when some of us joined the members could have numbered in the hundreds and like you said "Most of us were capable of having a heated debate on a topic in one thread, and joking with each other in the next one down the page."

And some of us still can.

    As far as this:
" And when we joined, this place was still a spammer's heaven. People traded email lists, sold spamware through their sigs, and discussed sending bulk email as though it were the most natural thing in the world. That's why Allen asked for someone to help with the moderating - so we could get rid of them."

I was probably just too new and naive to notice or even know about that stuff.
It was a place someone could come and ask for help and get it.

Spammers? Still has them in multitudes.I usually start the day off reporting quite a few.
People selling spamware through sigs? I honestly don't remember sigs being in the first two versions of the forum, but I don't doubt it. What's the difference? There is a lot of difference and a lot of sameness.

And I don't disagree with you, He doesn't have the history of that stuff, and I know he is a smart guy.
    I remember him from before.
As a matter of fact since his reemergence I had posted it was good to see him back.

But a lot of us have the "passion" he does.
There is a difference between having a "passion" and being downright rude and insulting for no reason.
As I said above, I was with him til the last post. But to turn nasty on everyone is not passion. It wasn't even civilized. It was completely uncalled for imo.

But here, even if it gets me a temp or permanent ban, I will stand up to such a jerk coming in and insulting myself and my friends, just as I would to someone that said the same crap on the street.

Especially the friends that I KNOW are filled with passion and love for our country.

A lot of us are smart guys, and I know I am not the best in putting my thoughts across online,so I give people a LOT of leeway in what they say.
I am not thin skinned either.

      Kim,

We agree on some parts, and disagree on others. It's mostly opinion, so we're each "right" in our own perspective. And almost certainly wrong in some ways we don't see. (Damned blinders. )

As far as standing up to what you see as an attack... Sure. Of course. This isn't the Wimppier Forum. And if someone seems to be destructive for the sake of being destructive, I'm not allergic to calling them out. Or calling them a jerk or a dumbass, for that matter.

Hell, if Tim and Steve want to beat each other up and call each other names over some allowed topic, I'll just nuke some inflatable maize and chomp away until one of them gets too vulgar. Which could take a while...

When it comes to discourse on public policy, I think there's an obligation to exercise a bit more restraint and civility. Unlike the imagined bout between Terrible Tim and Seasoned Steve, we don't have any choice but to be involved in such issues.

And I happen to know that you're perfectly capable of making your points without the need for undue nastiness.

Stupid people have an excuse. You don't.

What'd I win ? It better not be another bloody kewpie doll. I've run out of nieces and nephews to give those to, and I don't think my Mom or Dad would be good candidates. (I made my siblings personalized Easter baskets this year, so they'd wonder what I was up to if I hit them with anything else before Christmas...)

      Gimme a hint? Please?

Sorry, Paul, but I don't get this one.

nstead, some guy returns here with that same purpose, and you seem to have nothing to offer but a bunch of bullshit excuses like "what's the point?".

Why don't we all adopt the same bad attitude and let these pricks in the UN walk all over us, right Kay? Let's just bitch about it, and do absolutly NOTHING about it to make a change..

No wait.. we can attact the guy with the idea! Yeahh!
I didn't attack - I disagreed with the "they are out to get us" - "this will be censored" rant.

Sorry, Paul, but if expecting people on a marketing forum to "rise up" and confront the UN is a logical discussion, I must have taken a wrong turn.

Four years ago we had some fun and challenging political arguments - until a very few people became so partisan they took everything as an insult and started screaming. Then we had arguments about news stories and one person started claiming "racism" whenever someone disagreed with him.

Today those have been replaced with conspiracy theories and wild accusations about what "they" are doing to us. Anyone who doesn't agree is a "prick". Same channel - different song.

Geesh. I stay out of this thread and still end up in it anyways. haha Referred to as Terrible Tim no less! :/

By the way Paul, I never responded to your banning of me but this seems like as good as time as any. I was going to mention that if you look back I had stayed out of many of the political threads that were around here in the recent past. One that I recall specifically was the one where Bravo posted the cartoon of Obama on a lifeboat. I thought that was kind of funny actually but if you recall TL got very upset. Actually, I like TL and as you know we are probably aligned on most political issues, however I had found myself cringing at how he acted in that thread and others recently. I also recall telling him in a thread not to get so worked up and emotional about things here.

Because TL and I agree on many political issues, we are/were linked together seen as the pair of left wingers in this forum, arguing in favor of the admin and progressives in many cases. Many times TL brought me into the discussion also, when I hadn't posted anything. haha.

My point is that I realized TL had become a bit too emotional on these issues lately and I was unjustly connected to his emotional responses because of my political alignment with him. This is more of what I referring to when I messaged you about bias. It seemed like a personal bias against me because of what I just described.

Alexa has the emoticons, funny pictures and memes were my thing until they were taken away. YouTube just isn't the same as a replacement .

I'm going to re-rail this really quick, because my morning YouTube hopping suddenly got relevant. I don't think this music fits the taste of the forum as much (get hip people), but this song conveys the same kind of message of "stand up and stop with the bulls**t government" without the antagonizing rhetoric.

The way that these arguments are crafted is their own undoing in my opinion: the whole us v. them thing has already been mentioned; but the "you're with us or you're against us" mantra also plays a part. Extreme revolution of the kind these videos/threads ask for is not always a necessary prelude to change.

There's an election in November. If I really wanted to see things go differently, I'd put in the time to research candidates (choosing a party to blindly follow is the biggest mistake in the world, Democratic, GOP, or otherwise), and vote for those who most closely resembled what I wanted done. Then I'd do everything in my power (and a little more) to convince those within my circle of influence to do the same.

Too often we complain about how the system doesn't work. Did we ever consider that it's because we don't use it correctly?

However, I wasn't upset at all by you calling me Terrible Tim. The 'haha" and smirk were emotions not a "misdirect". By the way, this is a problem sometimes for comments made on the internet. I was staying out because I'm not on my regular computer, looks like the HD may be failing and it is getting harder and harder to get out dated parts like IDE drives.
But anyway,Tim, last election I was mostly in agreement with your views and had your back (as you seemed to have mine too) often.
Sadly things have changed drastically in the past few years.
Do our views vary on a lot of things these days? Yep.Do I still consider you a friend? Yep.

That being said, I'm once again in alignment with you, I never watched Welcome Back Kotter either.

    Heysal,

You're right. I had a VERY realistic dream last night, but IT must have been a dream. I have seen scifi movies that seemed more real than some things today. So some times I really DO wonder. Who knows? People ARE working on things like the terminator. Will THAT some day look tame? And there HAVE been cases of people doing stuff like on "the net". Of course THAT was fairly realistic compared to the terminator that would stretch the limits of what most now consider possible.

I have never seen the Terminator so have absolutely no clue what wall you are bouncing off.

I have, however, had two very disturbing dreams myself. In one I was sitting in my living room smoking and the door was slammed in and a swat team came in. I put a pillow over my mouth to breath the smoke into the pillow so they wouldn't see it come out of my mouth -- that was during the talk about illegalizing smoking in whole towns.

The second one - years later - We were in a martial law take over and I had bugged out with Munchie. We were walking into Canada via the Mountains in Washington . I had just reached the border and there were Canadian border guards there standing in a line and basically allowing me to cross. I was right at the line - in the dream there was an actual line on the ground. Suddenly behind me I saw a whole string of US troops with guns pointed at me. I looked at them and looked over to the Canada side. I had to make a decision. Finally I looked at Munchie and he nodded. I turned and we took a step to go over the line. I woke up in a sweat wondering if my own troops shot me. But remembered the feeling that I was prepared to die than to go back.

It was a dream that has come back to haunt me frequently since the NDAA was signed.

But I want you to know Tim at no time have I thought of you as being anything like that other guy.
It may not always be apparent but I respect you and I respect your views. You are one of the few on here that I conceder an "Internet friend" and someone who I'd like to meet in person someday.
We've had some pretty heated 'discussions' in the past, and probably will again in the future. But they have never altered what I think of you as a person.
As far as I'm concerned you're a damn good person, with a good heart, and I'm glad I know you even if it is just online.

The idea of the terminator is that a guy from the future, who is really a self aware robot, goes to the past(current present) to kill the mother of a guy that will lead a revolt against the machines. The machines got in power because....

      1. There was an international network(DONE)
      2. The military used it(DONE)
      3. The military created computer controlled drones(Basically DONE)
      4. They made a pretty effective AI(WORKING ON IT)
      5. It controlled everything through the net(Well, that could be done)
      6. It managed to trick people into giving it more control, covertly(Technically, they are working on THAT)

Frankly, SO much is done by, and recorded on, computers that a person with the right knowledge, or persistence, could do a LOT. MAYBE even trick people into building better robot, with some circuitry that could be exploited to take over.

Of course, currently, the idea of being self aware, and having a reason to overthrow, etc... is 100% scifi BS, but WHO KNOWS? We have seen STRANGER!

I have, however, had two very disturbing dreams myself. In one I was sitting in my living room smoking and the door was slammed in and a swat team came in. BTW heysal,

Take that as a COMPLIMENT! In that role, she plays the MOTHER of the kid. The future records were incomplete, and so the robot only knew her NAME, and what city she lived in. She heard about all these people dying with HER name, and SHE FOUGHT BACK! She managed to destroy it. BUT, a human friend of her sun came back to protect her, and he ended up being his friends father! Anyway, he died, and the mother lived and taught her son to be a BIG FIGHTER!

OH YEAH, people thought she was CRAZY, and locked her up, until the robot came in to KILL HER! He(arnold swartzenegger played him) came in, found out it was too hard to get in, and said "I'LL BE BACK"!!!!! He went outside, and used the truck to make an entrance, and chased after the mother.

You know..... Even THEN they thought she was crazy!

LOL Steve - Yep, I have exquisitely vibrant dreams - and often prophetic enough when vivid to actually make me cringe when I think of the two I cited here. Thanks for the rundown on the terminator - I was totally lost by your comments without it.

Kim - Terra.............Well thanks for thinking of me without picturing me in an electrostatic bag dress or shiny head gear.

Paul -- there aren't too many people I'd really be enthused about pointing a gun at, but there are several that would bring me much pleasure to knock the snot out of bare handed. Nothing more soothing on the nerves sometimes than the feel of warm flesh against a well placed back hand.

I never got down that far South, Tim. There's some tourmaline mines I wanted to visit down that way but frankly, going through that large a population center is something I wasn't going to do. I was there for about 2 months and figured out that I didn't like the place more than I thought I wouldn't like it and nobody could have paid me to go to where it was even more populated. Populated with Hard Core Califonians. Liked the central Eastern Border though.

I was in NYS over half a year and I never once went near NYC either. They could hold a Warriors convention in NYC and send me free tickets to it and I wouldn't go. Serious. I hate major metropolitan areas with a passion.

Hey - your ex isn't still in the middle east right now is she? This might be a really good time for her to get her hinney back to the states.

      Kim,

The intended purpose of this thread was to avoiding the bickering, and talking WITH people as opposed to talking AT people to find a solution.

There's a difference between insulting bad behavior & attitudes, and insulting the person. I tried to insult the attitude and leave the person out of it.

People are free to like or not like the message in the video. I don't have any stake in that outcome, and I definitely don't own other peoples feelings about something I don't have control over.

Can you see where I'm coming from? Can you see my mistake?

If you support my view, that's awesome. But I'm not interested in participating in the popularity contest. The purpose of the thread in the first place was to avoid all the bickering, and focus on a solution to a very deep problem.

So the last comment ruffled a lot of feathers, huh?.

Yea, the forum has changed. And I can see why I shouldn't have posted those questions in the first place. It's too deep a subject. It's to big.

I'm not appologizing to any of you that are treating other warriors in the way I mentioned. Just not cool. it's like talking behind someones back and that's a problem that you need to handle by yourself. I made that comment for the people that should know better, not the ones that got caught up in the group dynamics thing.

Oh, shee's, I sound like my Dad.

Something else you don't know, is that every post I've made here, is written with the best intentions. They are never to deliberatly insult people for the sake of bringing someone down.

Most times, I fail at getting my point across like I want to, and probably hold the record of most post edits in 90 seconds.

So, If you're angry, that's cool. I can adapt and overcome. I can also forgive you too. 90% of the time the intention was only to teach or inspire ideas. The other 10% is to try to add some kind of humor to this crazy world we live in.

    Grant
