Did you guys see the new official trailer? I was "meh" on the whole thing until I actually read the book, now I can't wait to see this thing:

    I did see the trailer, yesterday I think.
    I hope Jackson actually sticks to the book this time.
    While LOTR was a good series of films, it was not the LOTR story in my opinion.
    I'll see it when it comes out.

      I didn't mind that the LOTR strayed from the book a bit, they were still very good movies. I saw some shots in the trailer that didn't look familiar (as far as situations that happened in the book go), so it might be more of the same.

      Did you see the CGI on Gollum? It's creepy-realistic.

    It better be amazing since he is turning the 1 book into 3 Hobbit movies, it will be just as long as the LOTR on film!

    Gollum in this trailer? yes. and I did also see a couple of strays in this,but I understood them a bit more ,as it helkped tie the 2 movies together.

    Admittedly being very nerdy, I had a lot more time to have the book version ingrained in my mind,having probably read it at least 15-20 times,owning several different sets of it, having a first edition first printing of The Silmarillion, (The one with the Mistake in it).
    While I was never this bad myself, I had friends in high school who learned to read and write in the elfin languages.
    Most Halloweens I would be dressed up as a Wizard.

    But, I didn't like the straying from the story, putting the love interest in and leaving out some very key elements in the ending,imo, but I agree for the most part the movies were good to watch.

    While not in the works anytime soon that I've heard about, I would also like to see The Shadow made into another film. The last version with Alex Baldwin was terrible.

    Don't know if you saw my post on FB about it, but there is a Soloman Kane movie coming out soon I heard.He was a character of Robert E Howards,the fantasy writer that created Conan.

    Edit: AgentHomes, I heard he was turning it into 2 movies, is it up to 3 now?
    That would be a big mistake imo.

      I missed that one, and also heard that this was being split into three movies. Not sure if it has been confirmed or not, and the production video blog doesn't say anything.

      Becasue I always find a way to bring things to Disney: I saw on Reddit that Tom Hanks will be playing Walt in Saving Mr. Banks, a movie about the making of Marry Poppins. There are also rumors that Ryan Gosling will be partnering with Ron Howard to make a movie about his younger years.

      Some great movies coming out, I'm excited for something other than comic book heroes. They're great but getting stale.

      Gollum reminds me of so many people in real life . . . some treacherous, some manipulative, some hateful, some pure evil, and of course the mother-in-law . . . just plug ugly

      Great trilogy. Can't wait for The Hobbit.

    I really can't wait to see the movie. I read a lot of things about "The Hobbit" and it sounds very interesting.

      I'm really looking forward to The Hobbit. LOTR is one of the only long movies that didn't make my ass ache in the cinema (I always get ass ache/uncomfortable) - or at least I didn't notice if I did or not cos the films had me so engrossed
