Going to Paris anything unusual to see?

OFF TOPIC

Hello,
I will be there for ten days, I am looking for something out of the ordinary to do.
Please do not recommend the red light district.

Actually - just browsing the streets will be fun. Their sidewalk cafes are just incredible. I loved the Louvre. So much to see so little time.

Go to Verailles and either ride a bike or just sit and have a picnic on top looking down on the awesome scenery of the city. Or go for a boat cruise up the river and look at all the beautiful scenery and the castles.

If you have trouble finding something to do once you get there, I don't even know what I could suggest. You will find more than enough to keep you busy - and will regret you could not stay and see more.

Also a tip for you -- Learn to speak at least a few sentences of French. Many people come away from France talking about how rude the people are. I never experienced that - but I at least attempted to speak to them in their own language before trying to intrude with mine and they were wonderful to me.

Lou: The best way is to go sightseeing.

I was in Paris two times. TOP5 "MUST"s to see are:

1. Eiffel Tower
2. Louvre
3. Versailles
4. Disneyland
5. arc de triomphe

  Even if Paris had nothing to see, it would still be worth it for the food. You can walk into any hole-in-the-wall restaurant and have a fantastic meal. No joke.
  
  (But Sal is right about the locals: at least TRY to interact with them in French first. Most will switch to English very quickly.)

  Everyone would recommend The Louvre, which is a must. But set aside some time to visit the Musée d'Orsay, probably my favorite museum anywhere. It's a converted railway station overlooking the Seine, built around 1900, and houses a fabulous collection of paintings from artists such as Cézanne, Monet, Seurat and van Gogh.
  
  Be sure to take a stroll up to Montmartre for the view and to get your portrait sketched by one of the resident artists in the square - Sunday mornings are a good time to go.
  
  As has been mentioned, the pavement cafés are made for chilling and if you want a restaurant tip, try Le Petit Prince. Friendly, welcoming service (yes, in Paris!) and a reasonably priced menu. But be warned. Once you've experienced their crème brûlée, you'll never be satisfied with mere desserts again.

I'll also recommend the Musée d'Orsay and the catacombs fall into the unusual category. I also like the Sacre Coeur in Montmarte - Montmarte as a suburb was lovely with little cafes and artists but it has been a long time since I was there so I don't know how it has changed. I suspect it may be touristy and expensive now.

Norte Dame not just the cathedral but outside as we'll. there you will find a marker on the ground that marks the center of Paris. The statue of charlamaign is cool tool

At the foot of the Eiffel Tower I had the best hot dog I've ever had outside of NY-a French roll with a hole down the middle in which your condiments are poured and then the dog is place in the hole. Good eating.

If you have time, rent a car and drive out to the countryside, even the southern coast. It's like New York City versus the coast of Maine. Gives you a whole new perspective on a country.

  I don't actually know what HGTV is, but they're more commonly on something like MDMA, when they do that.
