No - there are some still around, but many stopped coming because of the negativity they encountered or just got busy with their business.

I see offline quite a few old school warriors that don't come here much anymore - but they're still around in IM.

Actually I met up with some last weekend and was reminded of a video of Marlon Sanders from 2003. I was actually operating the camera at the time to help out a friend who was hosting that event, but it was so memorable, Marlon is an unforgettable guy

Some of us are still here...Maybe Allen can start a "Decade Board" for those of us that have been around 10 years or more.

I was here in spirit, does that count?

Maybe I just feel old school because I've been doing this since 1997.

Naw, you just feel old school because you're OLD.

I'd imagine a fair number of the pre-2003 Warriors who're still here lurk, but rarely if ever post. For example, every now and again I see J. Mizel post, but it's very rare. Same goes for a few others.

Nope. BoogieJack definitely qualifies as Old School.

I was "here" before 2003, but didn't know about WF by that time, to be honest.

There are still some around that have gone ninja.

I doubt many of them would kick the WF habit completely.

Interesting point. If half the people who were members here when I first joined were still around, I'd estimate we'd amount to maybe 2/10 of 1% of the current membership total.

I doubt it's even that high. I'd bet there aren't 500 of the 1997/98 crowd who are still here.

        Under 500, how depressing.

Old Warriors never die, they just forget their log in info.

It's amazing that this rendition of the forum has been around since 2002 and iI still think of it as the "new style" WF.

I found the WF n 2000 and if I remember right we had to pay to get on... and the posts were all moderated.

Like Kim, I rarely post in the main forum these days. Or even visit it. Just no time - and no interest

    Mike,

Actually, this version has only been around since 2008. The previous version looked a lot like this one, but it was run using Snitz, as opposed to vBulletin (current) or Uni-Sol (original).

The post counts and other data were migrated here from the Snitz forum, which is why you still see 2002 registration dates. All "Thanks" data is from September 2008 and later.

Yeah, I remember the Snitz forum as well. I actually meant the "new" version as compared to the old threaded-style version under Uni-sol. As I recall, the reason it says 2002 is because the old forum data could not be imported? My memory is fuzzy on that these days

        Mike,

I'm not sure what database format Josh used for the Uni-Sol system, or if he would even have been willing to let Allen import it if it was possible.

When he switched to Snitz, Allen asked a few of us to check out the system, and then posted to let people know to go sign up at the new site.

Interesting. Of the first 50 people to sign up back then, 9 have been active within the past month. Looking through those original IDs reminds me of the process. Teresa King, Willie Crawford and I were the first people to sign up, other than Allen and the guy who was handling the tech for him. (There was actually one other, but I don't know who. The account ID was n/a'd, which means they got deleted at some point. Maybe Bob Puddy? I think that's right.) He announced it to the group publicly the next day: July 18, 2002.

Looking through the list of the first 100 members brings back some real memories.

You were the 449th person to sign up at the new site. KimW was the 54th. By way of contrast, Sal (1 year and 4 months later) was number 8072.

It's actually 8 or 10 less than that, because of the original test accounts, but it's a close estimate for anyone over the 100th.

In case you're interested in finding out what "number" you were, just go to your profile and look at the link on the Statistics tab that says "Find all posts by [your username]." At the end of the URL, you'll see &u=####

The number at the end is your user number.

One of these days, just out of curiosity, I should go through the first 500 and see how many have logged in within the past 3 months or so.
