For the rest of us still waiting for our 8:30-9:30pm time frame ... what are you going to do while all your lights and such are off?

For those of you who have already experienced Earth Hour ... what did you do during that time?

It's raining here constantly in North Carolina ... otherwise, I would have gone out for a nice long walk. Might cheat a little and leave one lamp on to read by.

Just turn off all lights? Super easy I can do that. Usually only have a lamp on at night anyway. I also stocked up on candles from when the electricity went out.

Last night during earth hour, I was in the middle of the Aussie bush on a 20km trail run. Hydration pack on my back, and a headlight on my head, and a couple of good friends, it was awesome!!

I turned off all the power to the house, and fired up the old diesel generator. Sorry about all the fumes and smoke.

I was going to participate because I thought it was just about conservation -- then I heard that it was all about the damned global warming scam -- it is Earth hour here now -- and ALL lights are burning as a beacon here in my home.

If people don't wake up out of their global warming stupidity real fast we are really badly screwed.
C202 levels always rise when the planet warms -- because it protects life on the planet - particularly plants - cut levels down at the wrong time and you will create massive plant die offs that people haven't even been able to equal yet. Scientists around the globe are calling a warning about this farce - they are working to stop Kyoto, a pact thought of by POLITICIANS who PAID scientists to agree - and edited the work of those who didn't.

I wish we could have our politicians prosecuted for reckless endangerment and attempted murder fo rwhat they are planning to do to this planet just so they have yet ONE MORE way to bleed the money out of our wallets.

Turn off the lights for an hour and protect the earth? Let me see here.

      Lights go off...house is dark.
House is dark so what to do??...how about sex for a change.
Sex in dark equal baby in many cases...baby grow up then what.

Another planet occupant with a probable LARGE carbon footprint. Large carbon footprint equals more CO2. More CO2 (listen! to Gore) equates to more global warming and thus death to the earth (as well as occupants).

Solution is to TURN ON as many lights as possible...SAVE THE WORLD!

HAHA how about everyone stops having kids for 5 years and see if that will stop the alleged global warming. That will be a lot less carbon footprints, it may save the earth yippee.

Most of the time, my lights are off as we are watching TV programs for 2 - 3 hours. Seems like Earth Hour daily for us. We are more concerned about oZone as the change in climate with temperature rising. Wish to have cooling environment.

The event passed here without change...though I thought about turning on every appliance in the house. I wonder how many berkly types turned off their grow lights for the evening.

I can go build a cabin in the woods and live off the land and be quite happy, though it would be a little tough on my big city raised wife...I mean skinning and gutting a wild turkey is not her specialty...but eventually she would get the hang of it.

Don't worry about the Ozone - it's fine. There were some scientists that did studies on ozone levels in reaction to the scam that the "hole" in the ozone layer was giving us skin cancer -- this was the excuse to sell killing levels of toxic sunscreens to the public. After sunscreen became a billion dollar industry stats started to show that more people were getting skin cancer than ever before -- and as more was found out about Vitamin D deficiency, the whole problem of the 1.5 deaths worldwide from certain cancers and other ailments could be tied completely to sunscreen and lack of sunshine, scientists went to work. They studied ozone layers for all the years that we were told we had a hole and up to present day.

Finding? That the Ozone was not being depleted. There is no hole. Whether or not we would have one if we hadn't cut aerosol usage or not can only be surmised. Whether sunscreen and lack of sunshine is killing us is becoming one of the biggest scandals in the health field. All those people dying and sick because they believed industry hype that the FDA let ride --- because the sunscreen industry funded the FDA events and educational grants, etc.........you don't blow the whistle on your meal ticket. It took a lot of doctors and a lot of researchers to start putting 2 and 2 together to blow the lid off of that deadly farce and they are making slow headway in getting the news to the public because the funding is stronger on the corporate side of the fence...and the FDA doesn't wanna admit they turned their heads and let so many become sick...millions fatally so.

            Welcome to corporate science.

It is actually worldwide. A futile attempt to save the world from environmental disaster. Don't bother worrying about it, as the world is on an unavoidable collision course with destruction by 2012. Just make as much money as you can now by selling to this huge niche market. Survival products, vitamins, alternative energy, conspiracy books, real estate, and forex are selling extremely well right now. In 2012, we will have new releases for survivors, to begin again to repopulate and rebuild the earth as the phoenix arises from the ashes. The cycle is unavoidable.

Darn, I must've missed Earth Hour, because I'm reading about it here. (Wow, some loss...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz)

What was that, another Al Gore attempt to take over the world? What a crock! Even if I had known about it I wouldn't have given a s**t.

The only purpose of Earth Hour was to give the sheeple something to do to make them feel like they are part of something. What, a flashback to the Sixties? If they really want to help the world, they should go out and KILL themselves. That would go a lot further toward helping this planet than turning their lights off.

Oh yeah, and thanks to everyone who participated.
