I know it sounds pathetic, I did wake up at 4am this morning writing my blogs, my wife wakes up at 9am we cuddled on the couch watch 'The Walking Dead" episode while I am forum writing, and facebooking. What a life.
So what do you guys do while at home working.

Is this a trick question? I sit at a desk and work. I get up for a stretch from time to time, food, toilet, etc. But the idea of working from home is to work.

Yep, work from home usually means, living in a cave for about 5 years, then emerging into a tropical paradise, for the rest of your life, (with a Laptop of course)!

Although l only work about 10 hours a day, with a few days off, (nights aren't included) a week!

Usually teenagers who you hear about that hit the online jackpot, usually sleep near their computer and work like the living dead, for up to 5 years, so they can have an internet lifestyle for the rest of their lives, (or own the mansion, etc with more flexible working hours).

But getting back to this thread, a coffee and paper, are at the top of the list, apart from the occasional movie, etc!

Oooooh, and I was saving up for one of those nice Spanish cave houses.
Maybe I'm doing it the wrong way round?!

Nah, just put in some skylights!

As for me, l just like the metaphor, and l am a bit of a tropical island nut, so l tend to go for the tropical theme.

And living in Victoria, AU, doesn't help, (almost as close as you can get to Antarctica). So it is cold, about 60% of the year. So l tend to go to the Gold Coast whenever l can, much warmer.

Couldn't think of anything better, (after l have made it) than shouting myself a holiday up there, and stay at a 5 star luxury resort. Then post on this forum, saying something like, "this is what the internet lifestyle is all about, "watching the sun set over the ocean, sipping my cocktail, after a hard day at a theme park, and briefly checking on how much money l have made, on my Laptop"!

Sheraton Mirage Gold Coast Hotels:Sheraton Mirage Resort & Spa - Hotel Rooms at Sheraton Gold Coast

            Starwood Hotels & Resorts

Then come back, from that, and figure out which house l want to buy, and what goodies l want to buy for that house. As well as seriously upgrade my Computer, etc. :p

Arrrrhhhh, certainly worth every bit of living like a hermit for 5 years, and putting up with negative talk, from your friends and family that don't get it!

Working from home means sitting and working for 30 minute intervals - I have 2 disc prolapses so cant sit for long periods. Check on the animals. Do some housework. Have a cup of tea. Relax for 10 minutes. I get so much more done than when I worked in an office!

I know it is somewhat hypothetical question but it is really important as well. Promotion is truly crucial for your business as it create awareness about your capabilities in the global market. I think you should use internet for marketing your website.

Only two years left in this cave for me then .

Yep, 20th December, (this month) will be exactly 5 years online, full time, for me!

And l should be weeks away from the jackpot or emerging from the cave!!!

It typically takes up to 5 years to make it online, but there are exceptions of course!

For me it has been brute force, or almost working like the living dead, for that time, and a bit of "being in the right place" or taking a chance, on something that looks like it should work!!!

I have failed a lot more than had small successes, but online you only need one success, that can be scaled to hit the jackpot!

For me, working from home all revolves around one word:

    MOTIVATION

    *Motivation to start every day...

*Motivation to do something with no clear end-game..

*Motivation to persevere past sticking points and wasted efforts...

*Motivation to put up with family, friends, and haters who're ignorant to the Internet lifestyle...

*Motivation to stop yourself from taking the day off (we've all dealt with this one...)

      Yep!

Working hard on something, for months or even years, and being able to shrug that off and keep going, requires strength or character that most don't understand or get!

They just see you slaving away year after year, and start to think that this person is getting no-where!

But you realize that even if you fail, you have learned a mountain of new things!

And when you either figure out something that actually works, or take a chance and develop something that looks like it will work, then all that learning kicks in.

If you keep trying no matter what, then it is inevitable that you will be in the right place at the right time, and buy or develop something that works!

The internet is a giant jigsaw puzzle, so it will take time for your mind to piece it all together! But when it does, and you get a break, then it is worth all the hard work, and keeping the blinkers on!

Taking the day off is ok, or in my case, l usually go out at 3pm and grab a paper and coffee somewhere, then late at night get back into it again.

Everyone needs days off from this, or you will go nuts!
