Interesting. I see no replies here other than what is above this post.

To answer your questions: Why do you need a webhost? That's who puts your website on the Internet. Without hosting, your hard work designing the site is a waste, as no one will be able to see it online.

Did you "set up webhosting" with godaddy? If so you might want to consider getting a hosting account elsewhere. (Do a forum search here of posts about godaddy hosting and you'll come to understand why.) Many Warriors here use hostgator. I do and I have always been pleased with them. It's less than $10/mo.

As to creating additional products and creating second websites and such, it is suggested that you have a sales page for each product.

But you don't need to get another domain name to do so.

    Just use a subdirectory.

www.yourproducts.com is what is called the home page url.

You can sell a second product using that same url, but with one difference:

    www.yourproduct.com/yoursecondproduct.html

    That's called a sub-directory url.

There's a difference between sub directory and sub domain. A sub domain would be written like this: www.yoursecondproduct.yourproducts.com

    See the difference?

Hope that makes it easier to understand.

Without hosting, your website wouldn't be online.

I have a feeling what you are calling a website online is actually a parked page for your domain name. Take another look at it and I'll bet you'll discover it is a parked page 'courtesy of godaddy'.

Creating an actual website means creating a header graphic, the body text, graphics (any pictures you might have on it, such as arrows, check marks, etc.), the PayPal Buy Now button (if you use PayPal for credit card processing), and a few other pages all saved to the same folder. Once it's all saved in one folder you upload that folder to your host provider using ftp.

I don't believe you have done that yet, judging from your original post, that's why I'm thinking you may be looking at your parked page and thinking that's your website.

    Sorry, it's not.

I purchased a domain name from godaddy about 2 weeks ago, but only recently (last night) setup web hosting? I dont know whats so important about it? Also if i want to create a second website for a different product do i need to purchase another domain or can i do it via subdomain on the one iv already purchased :confused::confused::confused: lol thanks
There's some information you can enter at Godaddy.com (when you sign in) that will "point" your domain name to your "website." You can purchase a domain name from GoDaddy and then set it to your "website" (web hosting server). Sometimes when you pruchase webhosting you'll get a domain name included. You always need web hosting though. Hope that makes more sense.

Rather strange avatar to use on a marketing forum. As for "Godlike", seems a bit of a stretch

Yes, what zigzag said. And once you switch your domain name from godaddy to your web host (such as hostgator), you should receive an email from the host. Be sure you save this email! It will provide you with your host server information. You will need this later.

I use Yahoo for email and I created a Hostgator folder in my email, so anytime I get an email from hostgator, I move it into that folder so I will have it later if I need it. So far it's come in handy a couple times. (I'm still kinda new at this, too.)

If you mean the blog - it's hosted by blogger for free. But it can also be deleted by blogger and you don't have full control over it for that reason.

A better option is purchasing your own domain name and using wordpress with your own hosting account if blogging is what you want.

You can setup a redirect to blogger or any other free blogging service too, so you can use the blogging hosting service.

Oh, wow. Yeah, I didn't even see that hyperlink to her blog. That's what she's talking about when she refers to her 'website'. Now it all makes more sense!

Thanks for pointing that out, Kay.
