Hey all- This is my first post and I'm sorry that I'm in such a bad mood. I guess I just need to vent.

I started IM two years ago and have made a decent income (okay, I guess I shouldn't be so ticked) but I'm so frustrated that what I'm doing is inconsistent.

I teach people how to play piano by ear. I've taught for over 20 years and I know it can happen for anyone. I made (and am still making) a host of instructional videos using my step by step method that has worked for years.

I did a re-launch a few weeks ago and it was pretty successful. I brought in about $2000 in 24 hours. But, my regular online sales are just inconsistent. That's what makes me ticked!

I offer tons of free material (free email lessons every 5 days), free online question/answer discussion board (which gets little traffic/posts), etc.

I joined in hopes that I can find my missing loop (and get un-ticked).

Thanks for letting me vent and I hope to learn lots from everyone here at Warrior Forum!

How hard are you selling in the free stuff you give away? If youre sales aren't coming, try pushing harder in your free stuff for the conversion.

      Hey Alex:

I'm pretty subtle about it. I'm sure that my products work, but at the same time, I don't want to be "pushy" while I do understand you have to be a somewhat pushy to make the sale.

I also do a broadcast to non-purchasers (and new subscribers) with promotion of some kind about every 3 months

Here is your biggest problem, and this is coming from a musician of over 30
years, so I am not blasting the industry.

It just isn't a must have item.

People don't need to learn to play the piano.

They need to get out of debt.
They need to cure their illnesses.
They need to repair their busted relationships.

In the grand scheme of things, and especially with the state of the economy
being what it is, you're simply not going to make mega sales with teaching
people how to play the piano, by ear or any other method.

Truth is, you're probably doing better than you should be doing in this
niche right now, though I don't know what your exact monthly income is.

But go to the Google keyword tool and see how many people are even
looking for this stuff. And how many of them are looking for free?

Your keywords could have a lot to do with it too.

And as you said, you give a lot of free stuff away.

Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free?

Like I said, I'm a 30 year plus musician so I have nothing against this
niche. But I just don't see big money in it.

    Hi Matt,
Sounds like a cool product...someday I'd love to study the piano more completely. I'm curious how your sales relate to your traffic. What kind of conversion percentage do you have? Is your traffic consistent?

    Best Regards,
    Kevin
