Its hard to see this and not get a bit misty and filled with a deeper understanding, or "reminder" of what beauty is.

Even my toddler -- Mr. Cars and Trains himself -- requests to watch that video from time to time. She's awesome and likable in ways that even a fiction writer probably would not have been able imagine. My little guy likes this one as well:

Are you referring to Susan Boyle or Piers Morgan who Americans seem interested in?

I think she came second in that show that year. No idea who came first, she was the star.

She sings Rolling Stones Wild Horses well too if you hunt on YT for it.

Piers Morgan could make a fortune as the villain in a Hollywood blockbuster. Remember the villain in the Running Man?

Give me a break! A lot of eastern countries, and germany, have been publicized as being bad because of what has happened, and some countries, like holland are considered a bit TOO "free". So they make good fodder. The SAME is true of a few oriental countries, and the middle east.

So it lays down a good plot, and makes the villans more obvious.

I don't think richard dawsons character in the running man" would have been bad if he just DIDN'T CARE about the veracity of the conviction, or the level of violence. It wasn't like he planned everything up to that point, created the charge, or even pulled the triggers!

In many ways, it is like "the family fued"(the biggest game show he was the host of). He just smoozed, maybe advertised, and did a few relatively harmless things. In the running man, the last step was the "contestant" got looked in a little car, and sent to an area where others were equipped with a lot of weapons and devices to find and kill the contestant. As I recall, it was win, and go free, or die a painful death.

BTW Richard Dawson was working WITH the government here! He was assisting the convictions.

Well, THIS one was a special case. He was the host of a, GASP, TV COMPETITION! I wonder if he ever thought that maybe decades later he would do something similar.

Of course, he was the villain in that he didn't care who he tortured, and pushed the limit for ratings. As I recall, arnold suspected something, and was framed. Like many of his other shows he played a strong well trained guy that everyone tried to kill but the guys just ended up getting killed themselves. This show was a way to monetize the execution. RUSSIA, DECADES later, did something similar in real life!

It's true about what Amanda said. We sometimes are being too cynical. Definitely a wake up call. I watched before and I am glad to be reminded of it again. Thanks.

We are just too proud of ourselves. We pursue for perfections on others while we are not perfect at all. Too busy to judge other people and being ignorant to own self.
