Just yesterday I heard a claim that has a *****TON***** of proof. It includes a statement broadcast by someone high up in walmart! I don't want to get this wrong, so I will quote it:

"In case you haven't seen a sales report these days, February MTD sales are a total disaster," Jerry Murray, Wal- Mart's vice president of finance and logistics, said in a Feb. 12 e-mail to other executives, referring to month-to-date sales. "The worst start to a month I have seen in my ~7 years with the company."
The WORST start to a month in 7 years! Now GRANTED, that could be PARTIALLY due to a boycott, but that IS in the US only, and STILL doesn't bode well.

Anyway the word is one I used here to describe the likely outcome, etc... STAGFLATION! That is INFLATION with absolutely no good coming from it. Business DROPS! Stagflation - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I wrote an article around the time The Fed announced QE3 which discussed what I thought would be the result of QE3. I said that it would result is stagflation. So far, that appears to be exactly what is happening.

Part of the definition of stagflation is having high inflation, so I don't see why having a 0% cpi is getting us closer to stagflation.

BTW don't be misled. China had people working as slaves with almost no overhead, and wanted to get a foothold. They are due for, and have been threatening, a reversal. So even THEIR products will go up in price, oil, etc... will also, so they will cost more to ship. If this goes like it may, they may INSIST in larger orders and less custom goods which means US firms will have to stock up, as they once did, which may increase costs MORE! The GOOD news is that it MIGHT be easier to get things like apple tablets sooner, and they may start moving away from offshore stuff.

Inflation is still alive and kicking - it's just that the way they measure it now has changed since early last year. That seems to be the new thing now. If we can't get things to measure up the way we want them to, rather than changing our tactics, we change the way we measure.

Since early last year the Fed has changed the way they measure by using "CPI" rather than the traditional measure which uses "core CPI" - Normally Core CPI is used because it doesn't account for gas prices, which constantly spike up and come back down, skewing the month to month numbers. In January gas prices went down a bit, skewing the CPI number downward.
However February will bite them in the butt, because gas prices have been going up for 30 days straight now.

If they can make "inflation is dead" stories now based on CPI , look for "inflation zombie apocalypse" stories in about a month.

Well said. Not only do they exclude energy, they exclude food as well for the same reason they exclude oil. That's why I don't pay any mind to CPI, I always check Core-CPI because rising energy and food prices can wreck havoc on an economy.

The Federal Reserve is the biggest bullshitter in history.
OK, at least in the top three. The Fiat system was created strictly to provide a way to manipulate. And boy, are they good at it.
Funny thing is, North Korea has been F- king with them for years via the Superdollar
If you have never read "Creatures from Jekyll Island"
It is an eye opener. Did a quick search try this link here
If no good just Google it ,worth the read

The Fed Res IS very good at it. They are now in the process of finishing their ultimate goal for existence - Global Domination. Unfortunately - the only way we will ever straighten this economy out is to kick them to the curb. Even with people screaming, the only thing that they are doing about it is arming IRS agents and sending in Swat teams whenever they want to bleed some more out of someone.

If they did abolish The fed, and go back to the gold standard, all participants in the IMF would have to follow suit, and that ain't happening.
It's WAY to profitable for all of them to keep things just as they are.
In other words ,screw the rest of us.

We CAN'T go back to gold. We don't have any. They stole all that, too.

The "Creature from Jekyll Island" is one of the best books I've ever read.

Did you know that 1/4 of the worlds wealth was represented by the 6 men that met at Jekyll Island, Ga in 1910 to create the Federal Reserve? The book also goes into the council on foreign relations, the Rothschilds, why the IMF and World Bank were created, etc.

Another good book is "Currency Wars" by Jim Rickards. I think its on one of the best seller lists on Amazon. The current "Citibank" use to be two different entities, National City Bank and First national bank (represented by Frank Vanderlip and Charles Norton at Jekyll Island, they were controlled by Rockefeller and Morgan). They essentially bailed themselves out 100 years later!

Stripping food and energy out of the CPI seems absolutely crazy. Didn't much of the arab spring emanate because of high food prices? People riot in the street if essentials like food and oil go up too high.

It is NOT hard to get inflation in a depressed economy.

If ****************ANYONE*************** tells me prices will not go, or are not going up, and yet the prices have, or the sellers say costs are going up too fast and they have been holding back, I wil simply not believe those people.

If they want me to say I believe, the solution is simple. They can reverse all the effects I have seen, and undo the damage I have seen, and I guess somehow guarantee me that it will stop forever, and I may consider it.

Do you realize that for what I used to pay for a little snack(like a brownie and softdrink) for a WEEK is now less than a low cost softdrink? I say lowcost because, with what some charge, it is more like a MONTH!

What ever it is it ain't crippling the economy.

Sure they have changed the basket many times.

It's not all that helpful but it ain't crippling.

Sure we're not rebounding as quickly as normal for other downturns but that's because this was the worst downturn since the 1930s.

This is a big country financially and..

If our unemployment rate is around 5% the economy is generally in good shape but our economic margins as a nation are so tight that if the rate goes up to about 7% there's an clear drag on the economy.

What ever it is, it ain't crippling the economy.

RAW unemployment is in the double digits. You can look up raw figures for any city in the nation -- and you will find very few that have raw unemployment figures under double digits.

The "refined" figures mean Sh*t from Shinola.
