Because vikings needed protection from the cold weather!

Whites DID tend to be in colder climates. I can't say too much about asians, but I think THEY were ALSO.

There are a few races that don't grow face hair at all. Wonder who their ancestors are? The greys maybe?

White skin doesn't afford as much protection from the sun and other elements. Maybe extra hair makes up for that.

Are you claiming black people get less hair? You're playing with fire, and I wouldn't be surprised to find out WF is being sued for racism.

It's racist to notice that some people have more hair than others? WOW. That's some PC kool-aid I'm not going to drink. I fail to see anyone making judgement calls on anyone due to their race. THAT is what racism is. Noticing physical differences in people is not racist - attributing personality and character factors to their race is racism. Get your facts straight before you start tinfoil air-raid screaming, pleazzzzzzzzzzzzzze.

White skin is an adaption for northern areas - it processes vitamin D easier. People originally lived in areas closer to the equator and dark skin protected them sun. As we moved to northern climates, our body required more ease in processing sunlight into the D and sulfur that we needed. Blacks in Northern regions often have a problem with D deficiency because of it and have to supplement more.

As far as hair - I haven't noticed that whites are hairier than blacks, just that there are races of people that the males don't grow facial hair at all. I don't see that as a matter of protection from cold - it wouldn't explain the equatorial people having hair and others, such as Native Americans, not having it.

You didn't know that? I am surprised one can call a black BLACK! SERIOUSLY! They ONCE said that blacks TENDED to have a different proportion of muscle types(There are generally 2 muscle types. One is generally weaker but faster, and another is generally strong but slower.), and people screamed RACISM, even though it was not bad AT ALL! BESIDES, either type can become dominant.

And I don't know enough about hair to say one way or another, but blacks supposedly GENERALLY have thicker hair, and asians supposedly GENERALLY have thinner. As for the coverage, I guess I haven't seen black tribesmen with hairy chests, ****BUT**** I can't remember many with facial hair either, so maybe they just shave. And I have gotten hair in places I didn't have it even as old as 40, so age matters also.

Serious? Are hispanics also considered Caucasian as well then? Both races have darker skin tone than the average guy we'd think of when we think of Caucasian. The word must designate point of origin rather than color then?

Yeah, if I were to setup races, I would probably have at least 6. But SOMEONE figured it was all skin color, and that one skin color wasn't different enough to count! So the 4 they came up with became 3! Maybe they just figured a few million people didn't count. INTERESTING, because the first definition of races I read had skin color as only ONE characteristic. There are others. HECK, when reconstructing a face, they need to know the race and culture to do it properly. The skin, and nose are among those areas that change. But, who knows. The way things are going, who knows where things will go.

I once knew these brothers that were adopted. They have so many characteristics, and nobody knows where they may be from. They could have american indian, asian, european, etc... And I have some cousins that have asian and european characteristics. It was the first time I heard the term eurasian.

It's features rather than skin colour Sal.
There are 3 types of human, Mongoloid, Negroid and Caucasian.
Caucasian includes Spanish, Arabic, Indian, Aborigines etc.

Well the Chinese have a lot of Neanderthal DNA, too - I'm wondering if the Yeti, which they have DNA evidence of is a hold over of Neanderthals or if they are more like what we think of as big foot They aught to check that DNA with the locals - especially in regions near the Plateau.

And yeah, I'm kidding. That was just for the tinfoil racism screamers. LOL.

Steve - height and bone structure is one of them. I know an archaeologist who found 8 ft skeletons (in coffins) - two male and one female. They had long red hair and Asian facial structure. Pretty wild. I wonder where they came from?

Wow, I didnt know there were levels. What kind of DNA do you have if it doesnt originate from Neaderthals?

Through me? Oh oh. I think there's a misunderstanding here.

Whatever I know is mostly self-taught. I only took some courses here and there, never got any university degrees. I'm not proud of this and am all for someone getting a complete university education, but that is not how my life turned out. I'm the only one among me and my siblings who never got a university degree.

I really don't know where you're coming from with that, since it doesn't match the picture. John, you represent what most people in the world respect -- someone who blazed his own trail. I can tell you that kings and peasants alike respect that more than just about anything else. Intellectually, you match wits as well as anyone, and better.

Steve I know. Even knowing a biological difference is now considered racist. Pretty soon any description of anything or anyone will become illegal and communication will, in effect, be disabled to suit some mentally ill screamers with no grip on reality.

Anyhow - some races don't grow facial hair. Native Indians don't. There's some asians that don't either - but I'm not sure of the descendency line in that matter.

Anyhow - I'm Cuacasion and never grew hair on my armpits. (very convenient), The hair on my head is thick to inconvenience, and legs light but normal. Not sure if that is idiosyncratic or racial. Never really thought of asking my grandparents about hair.

Yeah, the hair on the top and sides of my head USED to be thick, and now isn't. My facial hair is VERY thick. I was once at fedco. It was maybe 1970. In the front of the store, there was a general grooming/watch area. I am NOT kidding here, they had a special shaver JUST FOR BLACKS! The shaver ITSELF said it was for blacks, and the man on the package was black, of course. I forget whether it was Norelco, Remington, or whatever, but it was a major brand and JUST FOR BLACKS. Being curious, I asked the attendant WHY. He said it was because they tend to have thicker hair. I DOUBT it is any thicker than mine, but it would be interesting to see how such razors work. Elsewhere, my hair is relatively thin, about as thin as it is on the sides and back of my head now.

As for differences in races? YEAH, there are differences, AND in regions, AND in cultures, etc... People, governments, etc... are different.
