Don't Underestimate Toddlers

My wife and I were discussing certain incidents when our toddler was naughty. We thought we were talking above his head, using vocabulary and suchlike that we figured would be out of his range. He looked at us with a smirk and said, "Naughtiness is a sign of an active mind. Grandma said so!"

GREAT QUOTE! In a way, they're right.

Funny thing about vocabulary. Understanding tends to come before speaking and it is *****ADAPTIVE*****! By nature, it is based o the ENVIRONMENT! THAT is why people in china tend to speak chinese and people in english speaking parts of the world tend to speak english.

If YOU are there, and say the word, your child can hear it and get a chance to figure it out. He ay know what it means even though he NEVER said it. And kids DO end up figuring out a lot there.

Oh kids understand and hear much more than you think. They are like little sponges, they absorb everything.

Love the quote though..... from the mouths of babes
