My son, almost 3, says, "lighten up" to his mommy when she overreacts to things. He would have picked it up from me, lol.

    Their little minds are amazing!

My 4 year old grandson and I were out shopping the other day and he asked me if they had WIFI at the store so he could play on my phone.

    Oh how times have changed.

When I was first married and living in Germany I got a job in daycare at my husband's army base. It was hilarious to listen to the kids play. I'm sure if adults realized how much little kids give away about their home life when they play house, they'd be very careful about what goes on in front of them.

I've heard 3-4 year old kids say things like "Goddam fool", "You're ass in on the couch tonight", "God, you're fat", "who the hell was that woman", when they were playing house. They give a real view of what it's like there when no guests are around.

During the years I owned a photography studio, I photographed a bazillion children.

Often when I would notice the parent not paying attention to what I was doing, I would try to teach her 3 or 4 year-old youngster some long words like: jungian psychology, or Neuro Linguistic Programming. Then not say anything to the parent, hoping the youngster would spout the new words a few weeks later, while at home.

One day, I taught the word "existentialism" to the then 3 year-old son of one of my employees, and didn't tell her I did this.

Some 6 months later she tells me, out of the blue, her son came running in to the kitchen at home, gave her a hug, and shouted, "Existentialism."

She immediately knew I had been affecting his mind.
