No Response From Testers

Hi All
I recently advertised for testers from Warrior Forum users to receive my newly completed vocal programme and I received 4 replies.
As I assumed that I was dealing with professional people, I was quite happy to give them the programme for free, in return for their feedback.
However, out of the 4 people who received the programme, only 1 has had the courtesy to give feedback. The others do not even respond to my emails.
I have held off launching the programme until I received the feedback and now feel really angry that these people were happy to take the programme for free, but did not have the decency to give any feedback whatsoever
Has anyone else had a similar experience and how did they deal with it?

    I've offered various info products free in exchange for reviews. If you get half of them to comply you're lucky. This is just how it is. I'd suggest you make a note of those members and be careful in dealing with them for any reason in the future.

    While they are not a guarantee of working with you,you might want to look at their forum stats before giving the product for testing.
    That works both ways though.
    I would not respond to your request for a tester because you have been a member a year and have 1 post to your name.
    Become more active in the forum. You reap what you sew.....

    Oh, been there and done that. Beta testing is a gamble. I used to email my list and say I needed 10 beta testers only but I would actually take 20 - 30 knowing that of the 20 - 30 MAYBE a third would give feedback.

    You can incentivise feedback with the promise of some bonus AFTER they give feedback - that's helped me in the past...

    Most of the time, people do have good intentions but simply forget, or get too busy. Sometimes it's simply freebie seekers. If you look for beta testers, you need to expect both.

    Are you protecting your on line business? If you have a website, blog, ecommerce store you NEED to back it up regularly. Your webhost will only protect you so much. Check out Quirkel. Protect yourself.

      I'm not going to buy into the sympathy program - let's look at what YOU did wrong.

      Your one and only participation here was a "for hire" ad to review a singing program....on a marketing forum.

      You placed the ad and nothing more - you did not respond to encourage those who replied or encourage others who might be interested. Instead, you came back months later to complain about lack of reviews.

      You offered very little to those who responded:

      Please let me know if you are interested and I will send you the first few lessons for review and then the final parts of the programme
      You wanted to send the initial lessons - get your reviews in hand - and then would send more. If the initial lessons didn't generate interest - maybe that IS a review in itself.

      What you learned is you can't just toss out a crumb and have people donate their time to you and your product. The reason people on a marketing forum are wiling to review a product is:

      1. they want something for free
      2. they want to try a product they might be able to promote
      3. you are well known here and they want to be associated with you

      You missed all three - offering a "few lessons" - no mentions of affiliate program - you were here only to promote your new site.

      You may not realize it - but what you received was a valuable marketing lesson from the Warrior Forum....

      Identify your target audience -
      interact with your target audience -
      support your target audience -
      offer more than expected to those who respond

      If the response does not meet your expectations - look at what YOU did and how YOU could do better to attract the result YOU want.
