looking for new laptop

wife laptop fan is making noise so probably good time to get her new laptop. Anyone recently purchase a new laptop in $500 range? She is medium user: web-browsing, some photo work with Gimp, little use of excel. She is not a gamer.

Dell refurbished has this laptop for $564 (includes taxes)

  I have been and up to this point, the only decent ones I have found in the $500 range are refurbished ones although I use mine for music production and graphic design as well so I need a little more umph to it.

I recently purchased one from a local website. Flipkart.com, i also buy things from snapdeal.com for a great deal, dont know if they are available at your place.
