For those of you who don't remember the days of the "hippie" and tripping on LSD - Albert Hoffman, the guy who invented LSD died today at 102 years of age.

You've had a lot of wild trips Abby -- I hope you find this one just as far out.

Oh well maybe he is 'turning over in his grave' today.

'Hearing color and seeing sound' - yes we can, and much more - even decades after the 'high'.

        Thanks Dr. Albert Hoffman! RIP.

When I saw this I thought I remembered that he died a few years ago. Apparently this is the anniversary of his death. Either way, he lived to a ripe old age. Thanks in part to him, there's a lot of research into the potential benefits of psychedelic substances. This is going on today, despite the best (worst) efforts of governments and their absurd drug laws.

Plus, this isn't "Abby" Hoffman, of The Chicago 7 and "Steal This Book" fame. Abby Hoffman died in the 1980s, IIRC.

Ha, I used to have "Steal This Book", but I was a coward and actually bought it.

Okay - for one thing - Albert and Abby aren't the same guy so I mixed that one up. Second - Wired isn't a rag so I took it seriously, it's a very reliable source -- and then third - the article is dated 2008, which I didn't notice when someone posted this on my facebook. I just went back and read the article again and noticed the date was 4/29/08 Just also looked up Abby - he died in 1989.

Good grief - I have no clue why this was posted on my wall. It pertains to nothing at all else on there. So I just assumed it had just happened.

Well RIP Albert -- um..........I guess a little bit late doesn't matter in eternity.

Sorry for the false alarm. Holy cow.
