Reduction in threads if this were to happen.

I am sure I'm not the only one who is astounded at the number of threads that are being created with what seem to be some crazy, pointless or stupid questions.

Imagine if we eliminated them OR put them all into one thread, it would make life easier.

I am talking about questions such as:

How much money do you make?

How fast can I make a million dollars?

How can I make money without having to do anything?

Is it okay to steal other people's written content?

Can I get someone to write excellent content that will make me a million dollars a day but I am only willing to pay $1 per article?

Who are the richest people in here?

Who are the gurus in here?

What tricks do you use to make your money?

Is "XXX" program any good? (sometimes they are an affiliate and they just want more posts. Other times they are just too lazy to search for the info themselves.

.....the list goes on and on and on and on ad nauseum.

I guess the questions are good for a laugh but it would be great if people actually thought before they typed.

If people used the SEARCH function in this forum, many of the real answers are there.

I guess that is enough of my rant. I will be interested in seeing who replies.

if people actually thought before they typed
    They do think....

-what can I say to build up post count before selling crap here
-what can I say to get my link shown
    - need to practice my second language writing

...and some want to be heard and seen but have no idea what's going on or how many times their "how can I make $XXX" question has been asked in the past.

Kay; So, how many more posts do I need before I can sell my crap here?

The simple often repeated questions are really (like you're saying) from people who just don't know what else to ask or say. It's their way of saying "Hi, I want to join in".

Here's something to consider. WF was once primarily a discussion forum. But now it's a marketplace with a discussion forum. In the past few years I believe its shifted to being a marketplace first and a forum second.

With that in mind it might not be so cool to censor or admonish the customers because they might not want to hang around. Can't say I blame da boss. Business is business.

I can say as an individual who truly wishes to discuss things that I am stumped on, or just want to discuss with like minded individuals, it isn't always about the post count or inability to use the search function.

I have used both WF search and search engines to look for answers, and sometimes I would find some answers but there isn't a better experience than actually talking to someone. Plus the information in the search results may be outdated.

I purposely don't use my signature for any advertising because I don't want to be seen as "one of those guys," and just want to be part of the discussion. I am creating a product that I will create a WSO for but that's later so no need to leave any signatures right now I feel.

I'm sure I am the minority in that aspect, in fact I can almost guarantee I am, at least in terms of newer members, but hey, everything is everything I guess.

Not that this is directed at anybody in the thread I just wanted to speak from the side of the guy who wants to chat, not necessarily network.

ETA I actually can admit that there seem to be some really off the wall questions asked sometimes, so I can understand where you are coming from.

I can appreciate that. It wasn't fully intended to be an admonishment. It's more of a suggestion to think and perhaps search before writing and to ask more focused questions perhaps. I don't mean to offend anybody with this.

I realize that. And it's quite clear in your post.

    Hey Joshua,

There's nothing wrong with having stuff in your signature. After all, it is a way to tell people what we do. But I agree about getting and receiving advice in here. I have given and got and have found it to be the best forum online.

I think this thread is bringing out some interesting views too which helps us all I hope.
