I got 11. Bet you guys didn't realize I score pretty normal on psych tests of all sorts. Just goes to show that pscyh isn't an exact science.

In my experience, a high percentage of individuals who've studied psychology are uniquely inept when it comes to interacting with others...and educators, especially those that deal with children, tend to be inept in dealing with their students, thus resorting to the favored tools of the incompetent -- ie premature judgments and the "heavy hand."

Means you're "normal" range in contrast to, say, me.

Sociology makes more sense than psych everywhere, not just in college, I think.

Or to me: I won't pretend that my score is anywhere near "normal".

I've scored a slightly above average on that one - mostly because I don't like chit-chat. I think I'll change that.

Sociology seemed to make more sense to me than psych in college . The instructor was really passionate about the subject, and that in turn probably transferred onto his students.

I bookmarked your site, I wanna read those stories to my kids now, while they are still kids.

I scored 24. Don't know whether that's good, bad or inbetween and not bothered either, I was just bored.

Scored a 22, but I abhor social situations that don't involve close friends. If I know you, I'm the life of the party. If I don't know you, I'm rather aloof.

Actually pretty close to my outlook too.

      I scored 22 as well.

In my case, it means that I'm a genius, a sales dynamo, am a legendary lover, and I have the morals of a saint.

In your case, it means that you have an IQ of 22, and like chocolate pudding.

I'm laughing out loud as I type this.

        I do like chocolate pudding...

You might be giving me too much credit with the IQ part, though.

You guys think you have problems ... I scored more than my age.

I do like chocolate pudding, as well, though - especially those ones with chocolate sauce concealed inside (but they're hard to make). I don't remember a question on that, but there should obviously be one - maybe for the revised edition. That guy Simon Baron Cohen, the Cambridge professor who devised the test, is the brother of Sasha Baron Cohen, who invented and plays "Borat", "Ali G" and those other people ... probably autistic, the whole lot of them ...

Alex - maybe it's great minds moving in small circles?

I have a high score, too. I think the difference is accounted for by the "social interaction" questions. It's not that I can't interact well in social settings - it's that I don't enjoy it so avoid them most of the time. Sound familiar?

Yes, actually ... at least partly. I've done vaguely similar psychometric tests before and always had similar results, to be honest. Thank you.

You call that a problem? To be young again.

I had to lie when I took the test to get an above average score.
It frightens me what the score would have been if I was truthful to myself when taking the test.

LOL, well - I was understating it, a little. I actually scored 32, and was momentarily taken aback by the statement at the top that "eighty percent of those diagnosed with autism or a related disorder scored 32 or higher." And then I remembered that that doesn't necessarily mean or imply at all that eighty percent of those scoring 32 or higher could be diagnosed with autism or a related disorder.

Nicely worked out. Most people would never catch that.

Yes; a pear can be round and red and have apple-like characteristics, yet still isn't an apple. It seems to me that you've got the best of both worlds, so to speak. On the edge, getting a good view, but not over it.

I've striven most of my life to be different yet when I'm tested on just about anything I'm normal. I scored 18. How boring.
